This role is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building strong customer relationships, and driving new customer acquisition. The Business Development Associate will focus on prospecting, lead generation, and closing new business opportunities while working closely with marketing, sales, and product teams to expand McCue’s market presence. The ideal candidate is motivated, results-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, commission-based environment.</p> <p><em><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></em></p> <ul> <li>Identify and develop new business opportunities within the retail sector<br>Generate and qualify leads through cold calling, networking, referrals, and industry events</li> <li>Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective customers and business opportunities</li> <li>Develop and maintain long-term relationships with customers and strategic partners</li> <li>Achieve quarterly and annual sales and revenue goals through proactive business development efforts</li> <li>Collaborate with marketing, sales, and product teams to support growth initiatives and outreach campaigns</li> <li>Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify new opportunities and support business strategies</li> <li>Deliver presentations and product demonstrations to potential customers</li> <li>Track and maintain all customer interactions, sales activities, and opportunities within HubSpot</li> <li>Work closely with internal teams to ensure a smooth transition of new customers for ongoing account management</li> <li>Attend trade shows, conferences, and networking events to promote McCue products and services</li> <li>Maintain accurate business development records, reports, and performance metrics</li> <li>support additional business development and sales initiatives as assigned</li> </ul> <p><strong><em>Requirements:</em></strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree required. Degree in Professional Selling, Marketing, or Business is a plus.</li> <li>Telephone sales experience preferred.</li> <li>Strong prospecting and lead generation skills.</li> <li>Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.</li> <li>Ability to build and maintain client relationships.</li> <li>Proficiency in HubSpot and ZoomInfo is preferred.</li> <li>Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.</li> <li>Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving.</li> <li>Must have practical sales experience, preferably in food/meat processing, industrial processing, personal protection equipment, or plant operating supplies.</li> <li>Outstanding customer service skills and the ability to work in a team setting with a diverse group of employees, managers, and outside parties.</li> <li>Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office Products such as Outlook, Word, and Excel required.</li> <li>Some travel is required with overnight stays.</li> </ul> <p>The perks of being a Bunzl team member don’t stop at being part of a great team or being valued as our #1 asset.
