Summary: The Contract Software Developer will join a multi-functional team designing applications to aid in groundbreaking high-speed cellular research! You will work closely with our lead software engineers and application teams to develop and define web-based applications that support a global network of researchers designing experiments with our platform. Your efforts are highly visible, immediately impactful, and are seen directly by scientists around the world. Responsibilities: • You will assist in the development of new applications for the FluoroFinder platform; participate and collaborate in product development for existing and new tools. • Effectively apply modern coding principles and best practices to produce quality, scalable, documented, maintainable code. • Perform all phases of software development including design, implementation, testing, integration, and maintenance of software. • Use your strong communication and collaboration skills to work directly with other developers and with stakeholders such as marketing, customer support, enterprise support, and data-management team members. Technical Experience and Skills: • You have experience building and maintaining real-time, interactive software using: • Vue.js JavaScript Framework • Charting, graphing, and visualization libraries • HTML, CSS, Bootstrap 5.0 • UX/UI design best practices Preferred Experience: • Ruby on Rails development • PostgreSQL or other relational databases • Software development for the scientific community Qualifications and Experience: • Experience with responsive web design. • Application of web application UI/UX best practices. • Desire to contribute to and make improvements to the UI architecture. • Comfortable using version control (git & GitHub) and story-tracking systems (Linear). Other Roles and Responsibilities: You also have experience with and are comfortable with the following: • Remote work with individual responsibility for completing features. • Working in an iterative, flexible, and changing development environment. • Communicating and collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Participating in and contributing to all parts of the software development life cycle (SDLC). • Designing and developing new features on top of, and integrated with, an existing set of codebases.
