Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry • Discipline: RN • Start Date: 04/06/2026 • Duration: 12 weeks • 36 hours per week • Shift: 12 hours, nights • Employment Type: Travel JOB DESCRIPTION RN MS TELE About Facility: • 457 licensed beds • Trauma Level III • Teaching Hospital • Chest Pain Center • Stroke Center of Excellence • Bariatric Center of Excellence • Radius rule: Traveler's permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit Unit Information: • Beds: 28 • Minimum Years of Experience required? 18 months Med/Tele RN exp • Will you accept a first-time traveler? Not preferred but will consider Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: • Orthopedic surgery • Spine surgery • Trauma • Vascular Surgery • Medical Overflow Patient Ratios: • RN: 1:4-6; surge times could be 1:7-8 Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements: • BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (Resource Team Requirement) Skills required: • General post-surgical skillset to include: Incision care, Assessment, Drains, Chest Tubes, Wound Care/Wound vacs, Mobility, Education, Trach Care, NG tube insertion, Use of braces/traction, etc. Support within the Department: • CNA: phlebotomy, ADL's, Foley insertion/removal, peripheral IV site removal • Charge nurse indirect as able • IV/VAT Team • Mentor to provide additional support, assist in finding policy information • RT 24/7 • Hospitalist 24/7 • Remote Telemetry monitoring • House Supervisor provides additional support, serves as resource for information • Patient Safety Attendants/Virtual Patient Observation-utilized for patients in need of additional observation/redirection • BERT Behavioral Response Team: deployed to assist in de-escalation measures • Rapid Response/Code Team: additional resource called with change in condition, respiratory or cardiac arrest Technology/Equipment: • EMR: EPIC • IV Pump: Client Alaris • Med dispensing: Omnicell • Monitors: Phillips and Massimo Floating: • Within region and scope of practice • Will be required to float per region needs – will require floating to all facilities listed below, as needed, within scope of practice – DECLINE if not agreeable • Region 1 - Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, Central Division (CMC Main Mercy LCH (peds only) -- could float to any of the facilities within region if the need arises • If floating mid-shift, Traveler will be paid for the time traveling between facilities (will remain on the clock) Orientation (facility and unit): • NEO • 2 days departmental Scheduling: • Weekend rotation: every other • Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays • RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays – must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours • Schedule cycle: 6 weeks Other notes: • Scrub Color: Navy • Parking: Free Yes in designated areas • Unit Culture: Positive, Supportive Talent Burst Job ID #26-04971.
