PURPOSE:

The intern position resides within the Process & Support Department. This team supports the organization through training delivery, management of training technology platforms, application enhancements, and content coordination across multiple systems. Ideal candidates must have an interest in information technology, application development, data analysis, and digital learning platforms. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to translate business needs into technical tasks are essential.

CareFirst runs a year-roundinternship program. The ideal candidate is someone who can commit to work throughout the year part-time up to 15-20 hours in the Spring/Fall AND full-time 40 hours in the Summer. This is a remote position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist in managing and updating data within the Power Appsbased Training Tracking Application.
  • Translate business requirements into functional updates within the application.
  • Support testing, documentation, and quality checks on application enhancements.
  • Help maintain and update related SharePoint site content.
  • Generate, analyze, and publish recurring and ad-hoc reports
  • Assist in migrating video-based training content from SharePoint into the learning experience platform.
  • Partner with subject matter experts (SMEs) to organize, upload, tag, and validate content.
  • Work closely with internal teams, SMEs, and end users to gather requirements and complete assigned tasks.
  • Attend internal team meetings and support follow-up tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education Level/Experience: This position requires an individual working towards at least a Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University. Junior or Senior Undergraduate student targeting majors in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or a relate technical discipline with a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or above.

Knowledge Skills Abilities (KSA's)

  • Basic understanding of software development concepts and system/application analysis.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Power Apps, SharePoint, or similar low-code/no-code platforms.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work with data sets, generate reports, and identify trends.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders including SMEs and IT teams.
  • Must be able to work independently as well as within a team environment.

Salary Range: $18,720 - $26,000
