ADEC ESG Solutions, part of ADEC Innovation, partners with global corporate clients to deliver ESG strategy, reporting, and climate solutions. We are hiring a full-time, remote Sustainability Associate to support and lead ESG consulting engagements across North America. To be considered, candidates must have hands on experience contributing to ESG reporting or disclosure projects and demonstrated experience working with climate or sustainability data such as GHG inventories or risk assessments. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and provide support for ESG and sustainability consulting projects, which may include both regulatory and voluntary reporting & disclosure, GHG inventories, setting ESG corporate strategy, etc.
  • Contribute to quantitative modeling and evaluation of decarbonization strategies, including assessment of emissions drivers, reduction levers, and progress against climate targets
  • Support ESG and climate-related disclosures and reporting aligned with global regulations and frameworks, such as CSRD/ESRS, TCFD/ISSB, and other jurisdictional climate requirements
  • Assist project team members with the research, preparation, and completion of client deliverable
  • Support project management activities such as tracking milestones, coordinating internal contributors, and preparing materials for client meetings and calls
  • Create and contribute to internal and client-facing documents, and support team members on client calls
  • Contribute to improving internal processes and enhancing project deliverables
  • Contribute to the team’s marketing efforts through drafting blogs and supporting webinars

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in sustainable business, environmental science, economics/finance, climate science, business administration, or a related discipline or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of sustainability- and ESG-related work experience is preferred
  • Strong project management skills and prior consulting experience are highly desired
  • Experience with ESG topic areas, such as ESG reporting & disclosure standards and regulation, climate transition planning, GHG inventories and target-setting, risk analysis, social and governance strategies, internal controls, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience working with quantitative datasets related to climate IRO assessment, emissions, or sustainability performance
  • Experience with CDP, GRI, SASB, TCFD, EcoVadis, SBT, S&P CSA, CSRD preferred
  • Knowledge of climate change disclosure and experience with GHG emission calculations and/or verification

Ideal Candidate

The Sustainability Associate (CG06) will lead and support a variety of ESG consulting projects. As the ESG and sustainability landscape is ever evolving, this role is well-suited for those who are curious, adaptable and can think critically about sustainability issues. The ideal candidate must have experience contributing to ESG and sustainability disclosure & reporting, decarbonization strategy, climate risk and opportunity assessment, and/or ESG metrics projects. Applicable project types may include ESG/CSR reports, CDP, EcoVadis or similar disclosures, physical and transition risk & opportunity scenario analysis, GHG inventories, materiality assessments, GHG target-setting, ESG program roadmaps, national and global sustainability regulations, and supply chain analysis. Under the guidance of a Project Manager or above, this position will support quantitative or qualitative data analyses tasks, manage workstreams across concurrent client engagements, and contribute directly to high-quality, client-ready deliverables. in support of deliverables for our corporate clients.

An Associate should be able to take the lead on simple client projects and contribute to more complex projects, perform project tasks with minimal oversight, create and present compelling, evidence-based written and visual summaries of their analysis (for both internal and external audiences), and lead client calls. They will be looked to take the initiative to proactively find solutions to questions and/or concerns that need to be addressed. The Associate will need solid client relationship skills, instilling confidence in the client work performed, and anticipating and solving potential client issues.

The ideal candidate will: make recommendations on how to improve current work products, as well as expanding upon or creating new internal processes and training materials; assist with special projects, such as creating content cooperatively with marketing, writing blog posts, supporting webinars, etc.; and engage in cross-functional collaboration with all of the company’s business areas that relate to sustainability activities. Preference will be given to a self‑directed learner who can research, synthesize information, and propose solutions when guidance is limited, and someone who thrives in ambiguity and enjoys tackling unfamiliar problems through creative thinking and proactive research.

The majority of the ESG team works remotely throughout North America with a global client portfolio. Candidates may have the option to work at one of our corporate offices depending on location and accessibility. Occasional travel may be required as needed. Considered candidates will be required to acknowledge that proof of eligibility to work in the United States must be successfully provided if selected for hire.

Salary: $36.06 - $45.67 Hourly

Work Environment

The position operates in a dynamic and highly collaborative work environment. We are dedicated to providing our staff with opportunities to work remote, hybrid, and/or in-office whenever possible. This position can be performed anywhere in the US, with a potential for occasional travel.
