About the position Staff Medical Science Liaison Position Overview: At Insulet, improving the lives of people living with diabetes through innovative technology is at the core of what we do. We can’t achieve that mission without trusted partnerships with healthcare providers including Endocrinologists, Diabetologists and Diabetes Educators. As a field-based Medical Science Liaison, you will have and maintain a high level of knowledge regarding diabetes research, scientific publications and clinical practice. You will leverage your deep understanding and experience with diabetes technology to engage with Key Opinion Leaders in meaningful scientific dissemination and exchange. Through this process you will increase product awareness and build trusted partnerships with this important customer group. This position would cover the West business region. Responsibilities • Develop and implement a Key Opinion Leader (KOL) scientific engagement and communication strategy for the US market • Build and maintain trusted partnerships with targeted KOLs through meaningful scientific discussion and data exchange • Collect and share KOL insights and perspectives on key topics with internal teams to support Insulet’s strategic priorities • Deliver scientifically credible presentations related to Insulet’s products and pipeline interests to a variety of healthcare provider audiences • Identify KOLs for collaborative projects such as clinical research, advisory boards, symposia and medical education events • Collaborate with internal cross-functional partners and other field team employees to share scientific knowledge and collaborate on common business goals • Assess and explore opportunities for research partnerships through investigator-initiated research and clinical study projects • Attend and participate in activities related to Medical Congresses such as supporting Medical Information booth • Remain current with scientific literature and competitive activity related to diabetes technology • Performs other duties as required Requirements • Advanced health science degree (i.e. PA-C, NP, PhD, PharmD) is required • 5 years of experience in industry or academia related to diabetes is required • Expertise with automated insulin delivery systems is required • Strong scientific acumen with in-depth knowledge of diabetes and diabetes-related technologies included automated insulin delivery • Passion for technical learning with an ability to quickly understand and communicate complex scientific data and research concepts • Exemplary presentation and communication skills with the ability to readily adjust to multiple audiences • Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal cross-functional teams, Commercial field-teams and external partners • Effective organizational skills with the capacity to prioritize and multi-task, including efficiency, punctuality, and collaboration in a team environment. • Self-motivated and willing to work independently in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with a resiliency in the face of challenge • Willingness to travel up to 70% percent of the time, including some overnight and weekend commitments • Ability to drive to or fly to various meetings/congresses/headquarters • A valid U.S. driver's license and clean driving record Nice-to-haves • 2+ years of experience as a Medical Science Laison would be an asset Benefits • Medical, dental, and vision insurance • 401(k) with company match • Paid time off (PTO) • And additional employee wellness programs Apply tot his job
