OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This role is responsible for day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close support, accurate financial reporting, and direct communication with clients regarding financial information. The ideal candidate has strong Excel skills, hands-on QuickBooks experience, and is comfortable explaining financial data clearly and professionally in a remote environment.Key Responsibilities • Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP • Perform detailed account reconciliations, including general ledger, bank, and balance sheet accounts • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes using QuickBooks • Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals and adjustments, to support month-end and year-end close • Utilize advanced Excel functions (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, formulas) for reconciliations, analysis, and reporting • Communicate directly with clients to answer accounting questions, explain financial reports, and resolve discrepancies • Assist with internal controls and compliance procedures • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis activities • Prepare documentation and schedules for audits and external reviews • Collaborate with internal teams and clients to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting • Provide guidance or informal mentorship to junior accounting staff as needed Qualifications & Experience • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field • Proven experience in corporate accounting or public accounting environments with a focus on financial statement preparation and analysis. • Advanced proficiency in arenaflex Excel is required • Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks (Online or Desktop) • Solid understanding of GAAP, debits and credits, journal entries, and reconciliations • Experience with month-end close processes • Comfortable communicating with clients and explaining financial information clearly • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a remote setting Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $55,000.00 per year Benefits: • 401(k) matching • Dental insurance • Health insurance • Paid time off • Vision insurance • Work from home Application Question(s): • Are you located in OH, PA or VA?
