Overview: Lead the Contract Logistics (CLS) operations across North America and Latin America delivering high standards of customer service by establishing standards, policies and processes, driving growth through existing and new accounts, driving operational efficiencies and reducing cost of operations, as well as leading technology adoption to transform operations. Responsibilities: Operations Management • Drive the establishment of standards, processes and policies for CLS Operations in North America and Latin America to ensure operation run efficiently, safely and in line with APLL’s culture and maxims. • Establish standards of operational performance for distribution centers to enable the fulfilment of APLL’s commitment to its customers • Drive the development of and approve budgets for resource planning and labor allocation for warehouse distribution center sites to ensure sites are adequately staffed and resourced to deliver business objectives • Review operational performance across warehouse distribution centers periodically to identify gaps, and work with Directors to address them and drive action to ensure operational objectives are met • Hold Directors accountable for cascading and meeting operational targets and objectives for CLS operations in assigned geographies • Maintain relationships with site managers to have direct line-of-sight of operations, issues and challenges at individual sites • Drive adherence to safety standards across CLS operations by holding Directors accountable for safety performance of sites overseen by them • Lead problem solving and responsive decision-making to address emergency scenarios at warehouse distribution center sites Operations Excellence and Innovation • Drive the establishment and implementation of 5S principles of lean operations across the warehouse distribution centers in North America and LATAM to ensure efficient and productive operations • Lead key labor and operations excellence projects across CLS operations in the region to drive improvements in operational efficiencies, cost reduction, innovation, safety performance and compliance • Provide periodic updates and reporting to senior leadership on progress of key operations excellence projects and initiatives from a CLS perspective • Review effectiveness of operations excellence and innovation projects through achievement of objectives such as cost savings, productivity increase etc. Technology and Innovation Management • Work with APLL Operations Excellence team to track new and emerging technologies with potential application in APLL/CLS operations • Attend industry and technology events to identify new operational technologies, network with technology partners to drive APLL’s interests in key operations and industrial technology domains • Working with other key stakeholders in the organization, serve as CLS’s primary representative for APLL’s IT and innovation roadmap, driving the roadmap development from CLS perspective • Guide the selection of IT and innovation solutions to be developed to enhance CLS operations, and oversee the development of user journeys and customer experience mapping to support the development of solutions • Review and sign-off on IT and innovation solutions developed to improve CLS’s operational performance Customer Relationship and Commercial Management • Build and maintain relationships with key clients’ C-suite stakeholders to understand and manage expectations, align on performance standards and drive continuous improvement • Collaborate with commercial counterparts to lead the renewal of client contracts, ensuring commercial and performance terms balance client value and APLL interests • Participate in quarterly business reviews with key clients to assess client satisfaction with APLL services and ensure client feedback is incorporated into improvement of operational standards • Provide operational input, review and approval of new proposed business opportunities for CLS operations to grow business through new and existing customers Team & People Management • Lead capability building for the team to ensure the team has the right skills to deliver against current and emerging requirements • Provide feedback and opportunities for development to staff within own team • Develop a bench of talent through training, development and succession planning Qualifications: Education • Bachelor’s degree in business, International Business, or applicable Supply Chain Management acumen. • Master’s in Business Administration or advanced degree a plus. Experience – General Experience • 10 plus years Strategic Planning, Budgeting, P&L oversight, Continuous Improvement, and lean operations programs, negotiations and pricing of new business. • Proven track record of improving cost-to-serve through innovation, standardization, technology, productivity tracking and people management. • Experienced international traveler with working knowledge of both English and Spanish (desired). – Manag
