Position Overview: Keystone Custom Homes is seeking a talented and experienced IT Specialist with strong expertise in Power BI, Microsoft SQL Server, and modern analytics techniques, including AI-driven insights and data science methodologies. We are looking for a Power BI / SQL Expert who can power our business with advanced analytics, intelligent reporting, and data-driven decision support. This candidate will be able to troubleshoot reports not working properly and make them better using legacy databases they did not create. This role will leverage strong analytical, data science, and problem-solving skills to transform complex datasets into actionable insights. The ideal candidate is proficient in Microsoft Power BI, SQL Server, and analytical modeling, with experience enhancing and modernizing legacy data environments. This individual will apply statistical thinking, automation, and AI-enabled techniques where appropriate to improve reporting accuracy, efficiency, and business impact. Key Responsibilities: • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Power BI reports and dashboards using SQL database tables, views, and analytical models. • Analyze complex, multi-source datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable insights that support strategic and operational decision-making. • Apply advanced analytical techniques, including statistical analysis and AI-assisted methods (e.g., forecasting, anomaly detection, automated insights), to enhance reporting and business intelligence. • Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to translate analytical and reporting requirements into intuitive, user-friendly Power BI solutions. • Develop, optimize, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server database structures, writing complex queries, views, stored procedures, and performance-optimized logic. • Troubleshoot, refactor, and enhance legacy reports and data models to improve reliability, performance, and analytical value. • Partner with Web Development and other technical teams to ensure seamless integration of data, analytics, and visual components where appropriate. • Debug and resolve data, reporting, and performance issues, delivering timely and effective solutions. • Continuously learn and stay current with emerging trends in data science, AI, analytics, and business intelligence technologies. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Analytics, or equivalent demonstrated experience. • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in analytics, business intelligence, or data-focused roles. • Strong background in data analysis, data modeling, and translating data into business insights. • Demonstrated experience working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. SQL Server & Data Engineering • Advanced knowledge of SQL Server database architecture, including working with both legacy and modern data environments. • Strong experience navigating complex schemas to connect and prepare data for analytical use. • Proficiency with SQL, including: o Stored Procedures o Functions o Triggers o Query optimization and performance tuning Power BI & Analytics • Advanced Power BI development experience, including: o Creation of complex, enterprise-grade reports and dashboards across multiple SQL Server data sources o Modification, optimization, and modernization of legacy Power BI reports o Data modeling, DAX, and best practices for performance and usability • Experience using task tracking systems to gather requirements and deliver analytics solutions aligned with business needs. Nice to haves: • Experience in real estate, building, construction, or similar industries • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies – nice for SQL experience as our development team uses the same SQL databases. • Ticketing system experience for task tracking – we use Jira, but other experience helps. • CI/CD experience • Azure DevOps or Atlassian Suite (Jira, BitBucket, Nexus, Jenkins) experience Apply tot his job
