This consistent, organic growth is why we have a need for a Software Engineering Manager to join us! This role will involve leading talented Software Development teams responsible for the development of our HRIS software. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical background in software combined with a proven track record of managing high-performing engineering teams. Remote Work Qualifications • Access to a reliable and secure high-speed internet connection. Cable or fiber internet connections (at least 75mbps download/10mbps upload) are preferred, as satellite connections often cannot support the technologies used to perform day-to-day tasks. • Access to a home router and modem. • A dedicated home office space that is noise- and distraction-free. The space should have strong wireless connection or a wired Ethernet connection (wired connection is preferred, if possible). • A valid, physical address (apartment, suite, etc.). PO Boxes are not supported, as a physical address is required for you to receive your computer equipment. • The desire and ability to work and communicate with other team members via chat, webcam, etc. • Legal residents of one of the following states: (AK, AL, AR, AZ, CT, DE, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MS, NC, ND, NH, NM, NV, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WI, WV, and WY). We only accept W-2 candidates, H-1B sponsorship is not available. Responsibilities • Foster an inclusive team culture focused on innovation, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence. • Ensure adherence to software development best practices, including arenaflex/CD, code quality, and observability. • Responsible for performance management and career development of a team of approximately 10 Software Engineers. • Organizing and managing timelines, which includes collaborating with BA, QA and development teams. • Actively contributing to code reviews, architecture decisions and process improvements. Physical Requirements • Work is performed while sitting/standing and interfacing with a personal computer. • Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing. • Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations. • Requires occasional bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching. • Requires the ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 50lbs. Qualifications Experience • 10+ years of experience in Software Engineering with a proven track record of managing high-performing engineering teams. • Software engineering background with proven experience leading an engineering team in an Agile environment. • A collaborative team mentality and the ability to successfully interface with other managers to solve problems and inspire results. • Leading teams using arenaflex Stack (particularly C#) and React. • Ability to communicate complex initiatives clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring understanding across teams. • Utilize exceptional conflict resolution skills to navigate difficult conversations and foster positive outcomes. • Showcase strong emotional intelligence to build rapport, manage relationships, and respond appropriately to diverse situations. • Strong self-management skills to be effective with minimal supervision. • Effective written and verbal communication skills. • Thrive in a fast-paced team environment.
