<p><strong>JOB SUMMARY</strong></p><p>Delivers high quality, dynamic Power Plant Mechanic training programs to members across Power Supply to meet individual and organizational needs. Typical training subjects include but not limited to; Gear Drives, Various Pumps used in the Power Plant, Chain Drives, Advance Gear Drives, Precision Measurement, Bearings etc. This role will also deliver safety training as needed. Conducts pre and post training evaluations to assess quality, participant comprehension and demonstrated application of knowledge and skills presented. Partners/collaborates with Technical Learning Services, clients and others in the design of training per client needs.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY</strong></p><p>• Complex responsibilities related to primary focus of job area. Uses best practices and in-depth business knowledge to solve complex problems and improve products or services. May adapt procedures, processes and techniques to meet the more complex requirements of position.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</strong></p><p>• All other duties as assigned.</p><p>• Coach and mentor support partners on technical issues, process issues, delivery and problem solving processes.</p><p>• Partner with the client in the establishment of instructional goals and objectives for the design and delivery of training to meet the particular business need.</p><p>• Strong focus on continuous improvement applying practical knowledge and expertise, industry standards and best practices.</p><p>• Coordinate with Subject Matter Experts to update existing course content, as needed.</p><p>• Deliver high quality training to members in a variety of learning environments.</p><p>• May provide direction to less experienced members of the Training team, as needed.</p><p>• Develop and recommend creative solutions to support technical learning.</p><p>• Conduct training needs assessments and assist with the development of Training Plans.</p><p>• Provide guidance to supervisors in applying assessment tools and skills needed for members to perform job functions.</p><p>• Develop member skill assessment tools and evaluate members' skills to perform their job functions.</p><p>• Participate in the evaluation and selection of external training vendors, as needed.</p><p>• May direct the coordination of employee attendance in internal and external training programs.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>REQUIREMENTS</strong></p><p>• Bachelor's Degree And 5 years Technical Training experience; Or</p><p>• Associate's Degree within a related technical field (e.g., Electronics, Electrical, Engineering Technology), And 7 years’ experience within a related technical area (e.g. Plant Mechanic or related role);</p><p>• High School Diploma/GED And 10 years’ experience within a related technical area (e.g., Plant Mechanic).</p><p><br></p><p><strong>WORKING CONDITIONS</strong></p><p>• Able to work outside office environment, i.e., within the plants, outdoors and inclement weather.</p><p>• Frequently requires up to eight hours a day of office and computer work updating, reviewing and revising training and other related documentation.</p><p>• May work non-standard hours.</p><p>• Some overnight travel may be required.</p><p>• Classroom and field/work areas, as required.</p><p>• Office environment with extensive use of personal computer.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>SPECIAL SAFETY REQUIREMENTS</strong></p><p>• Member is required to drive in order to perform their job duties. Member is assigned a company vehicle and/or member must drive a company and/or personal vehicle to complete company business at least 50% of time.</p><p>• The operation of equipment, machinery or power tools;</p><p><br></p><p><strong>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAS)</strong></p><p>• Ability to use common purpose hand and/or power tools and other materials of various craft trades.</p><p>• Ability to operate equipment specific to the job function to include PIT, Bucket and Digger Trucks, Crane, and other equipment as required.</p><p>• Strong knowledge of and ability to use Instructional Systems Design (ISD) models (i.e.</p><p>• Excellent presentation skills.</p><p>• Proven ability to partner with ISD to assess client needs and establish curriculum and content requirements.</p><p>• ADDIE).</p><p>• Demonstrated ability to solve problems and develop solutions.</p><p>• Demonstrated strong ability to communicate effectively with members and management at all levels within the organization.</p><p>• Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality training in an effective and professional manner.</p><p>• Demonstrated strong ability to organize, effectively prioritize, and manage multiple tasks until completion and according to established timelines.</p><p>• Demonstrated ability to develop creative solutions.</p><p>• Ability to read and interpret prints and drawings.</p><p>• Ability to partner effectively with all department staff and promote a cooperative team environment.</p><p>• Ability to interact with and convey information to internal and external customers, orally or in writing, in a clear, concise, professional and respectful manner in order to ensure maximum results.</p><p>• Knowledge and understanding of basic craft related principles and processes.</p><p>• Knowledge and understanding of safety requirements and use of personnel protective equipment.</p><p>• Maybe required to cross train to support craft and safety training.</p><p>• Ability to work near energized and/or rotating equipment in a safe manner.</p><p>• Demonstrated ability to use a personal computer and MS Office Suite (e.g., SAP, business systems, etc.).</p><p>• Demonstrated ability for continuous learning across a variety of technical fields.</p><p>• Ability to work independently and make decisions that support and align with the Company's overall goals and objectives.</p><p>• Demonstrated advanced subject matter expertise in the business areas assigned (i.e.</p><p>• Practical knowledge of training records systems and/or Learning Management Systems.</p><p>• Demonstrated ability to develop and recommend creative solutions to support technical learning.</p><p>• Plant Operations, Construction, Substation Operations, etc.).</p><p><br></p><p><strong>LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS</strong></p><p>• Required Certifications/Licensures:(Valid Driver’s License)</p><p><br></p><p><strong>HEALTH AND SAFETY (MEDICAL/DOT REQUIREMENTS)</strong></p><p>• Pre-Employment Drug Screen</p><p>• This position is classified as a Safety-Sensitive Job under state law.
