WORK OPTION: Remote<p><span style="color:#ffffff">_________________</span></p><p><u><b>Position Summary:</b></u></p><p>The Senior Software Engineer, Tech Lead will play a pivotal role in designing, modernizing, and delivering enterprise-facing applications that support core NBA business units, including IT, League Operations, Legal, and Events. </p><p>Reporting to the Director of Core Tech Platforms, this role operates within the Software Engineering department and partners closely with engineering leads and Program Delivery.</p><p>This position is both hands-on and strategic, responsible for driving architectural decisions, guiding the re-platforming of .NET applications into a modern, multi-cloud architecture, and mentoring engineers across multiple projects. The Tech Lead will ensure high-quality, scalable, and maintainable systems that align with NBA’s long-term cloud and platform strategy.</p><p></p><p><u><b>Major Responsibilities:</b></u></p><p>Technology & Architecture</p><ul><li>Lead the design, development, and migration of enterprise applications on modern AWS architecture</li><li>Contribute to the design, development, and support of IT Department systems and platforms.</li><li>Define and document technical architecture, system integrations, and service interfaces</li><li>Drive cloud-native development practices and multi-cloud architecture</li><li>Support CI/CD practices and DevOps principles in delivery workflows</li></ul><p></p><p>Agile & Business</p><ul><li>Partner with Technical Program Managers to drive project alignment, remove blockers, and ensure timely execution.</li><li>Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business and functional requirements.</li><li>Conduct agile ceremonies for engineering teams</li><li>Improve and advocate for agile practices in engineering delivery and project management</li></ul><p></p><p>Management & Leadership</p><ul><li>Act as a senior technical mentor to software engineers and junior tech leads</li><li>Drive application design reviews and architectural decisions</li><li>Collaborate with vendor teams to leverage their expertise and accelerate progress</li><li>Establish alignment and collaboration with engineering teams within the IT department and throughout the NBA</li><li>Manage team budgets and allocate team members to projects</li><li>Manage distributed Engineering Teams, onsite and offshore</li></ul><p></p><p><u><b>Required <span style="overflow-wrap: break-word; display: inline; text-decoration: inherit; hyphens: auto;">Education/Professional</span> Experience:</b></u></p><ul><li>Bachelors Degree or equivalent. Masters would be a plus.</li><li>8+ years of software engineering experience with increasing scope and responsibility</li><li>3+ Years of experience leading engineering teams</li></ul><p></p><p><u><b>Required Skills/Knowledge Attributes:</b></u></p><p>Technology & Architecture</p><ul><li>Strong technical expertise in C#, ASP.NET, and SQL Server</li><li>Deep understanding of cloud-first application development</li><li>Deep understanding of cloud hosting technologies, including AWS and Azure</li><li>Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps toolchains</li><li>Experience modernizing legacy applications for cloud-native environments, including containerization, observability, and DevOps</li><li>Experience with JavaScript development frameworks, including jQuery, React.js, Angular</li><li>Experience with Identity & Access Management, including Active Directory, EntraID, Ping Identity</li><li>Experience with microservices architecture and API-first design.
