We are seeking a London based Senior Production Director with a strong background in technical direction within experiential and brand led environments. This role would suit someone who has led the technical vision and delivery of large scale live experiences, translating creative concepts into robust, buildable solutions while overseeing complex production infrastructure from design through to onsite execution.

Role Overview

The Senior Production Director leads the Production department, ensuring operational excellence, technical integrity and commercial control across all projects. You will oversee production from brief through to onsite delivery, embedding best practice across cost, time and quality while developing the team and supplier network to support agency growth.

Key Responsibilities

Production Leadership

  • Manage the Production team with direct line reports and overall accountability for departmental performance
  • Partner with the GPPD to ensure strong collaboration between Projects and Production
  • Maintain and elevate production management standards across the agency
  • Lead the planning, execution and closing of production from initial brief to onsite delivery
  • Oversee delivery across cost, time and quality for your own projects and the wider department
  • Recommend, contract and manage appropriate external suppliers
  • Monitor production progress to ensure alignment with client brief and expectations
  • Advise project teams on production methods, finishes and construction approaches
  • Research and propose materials, technologies, suppliers and technical solutions
  • Brief and manage vendors to obtain accurate quotations for budget development
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships

Senior Leadership and Team Development

  • Work with the senior management team to bring the agency vision to life
  • Provide industry insight and production expertise to inform strategic decisions
  • Contribute to agency culture and team development
  • Lead internal debrief processes to review production successes and learnings
  • Develop new production processes to support consistent project delivery
  • Mentor and develop Senior Production Managers and direct reports

Business Contribution

  • Drive production initiatives that add business value, including sustainability and supplier innovation
  • Act as a visible industry voice to build personal and company credibility
  • Support business growth through client relationships and consistent production excellence

Supplier Development

  • Research and secure new supplier partnerships across the UK, EMEA and the US
  • Maintain and develop the agency supplier database
  • Strengthen existing supplier relationships and identify operational improvements
  • Onboard new suppliers and oversee contractual agreements
  • Provide production guidance and training to ensure high standards
  • Undertake regular supplier visits to maintain up to date production capability knowledge
  • Maintain broad expertise across live streaming, pop ups, festivals, hybrid events, roadshows and tours
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of scenic, graphics, AV, digital executions, materials and equipment

Creative Collaboration

  • Manage the production journey from design to delivery to protect creative integrity
  • Provide realistic technical solutions and early stage cost estimates during concept development
  • Partner with the design team to ensure concepts are buildable and budget aligned
  • Contribute creative insight with a focus on sustainable production solutions

Finance and Commercial Management

  • Review and sign off production costs
  • Lead tender and RFP responses from a production perspective
  • Manage supplier costing and engagement processes to protect margins
  • Understand financial processes and support team training where required

Onsite Delivery

  • Lead onsite production delivery, managing multiple third party suppliers
  • Conduct site surveys and commission detailed CAD drawings where required
  • Ensure appropriate health and safety processes are followed
  • Provide onsite or remote oversight during installations and manage snagging processes

Key Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience managing production within experiential agencies
  • Strong international supplier network across the UK, Europe, Middle East and USA
  • Understanding of safety regulations within retail production and activations
  • Knowledge of creative production technology, AV integration, 3D builds, live streaming and digital platforms
  • Experience managing complex logistics and international shipping for rollouts
  • Comfortable operating across international teams and time zones
  • Calm, organised and solutions focused under pressure
  • Self motivated with strong initiative
  • Mac literate across Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Able to read and interrogate CAD files
  • Senior production leadership experience delivering projects valued at £2 million and above
  • Experience leading teams and departments
  • Proven client and supplier management, including budget creation and control through to onsite delivery
  • Experience working across the US event landscape

Hours and Location

We operate a hybrid working model. Our office is based in Shoreditch and we are in the studio Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Global delivery is core to the role and overseas travel of up to 20 days per year may be required. Standard office hours apply, though deadlines and installations may require occasional extended hours.
