About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking for a Senior Due Diligence Consultant for Governance across the APAC region. This role will provide strategic oversight and leadership, ensuring alignment with global standards and regulatory requirements. The role is critical in maintaining robust governance frameworks, managing regulatory change, and supporting risk management initiatives across multiple jurisdictions.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain governance structures that support compliance and risk management objectives across APAC.
  • Monitor regulatory developments in APAC and EMEA (e.g., MAS, HKMA, FCA, ESMA) and ensure timely implementation of changes into policies and procedures.
  • Lead the review and approval process for compliance policies and standards, ensuring consistency with global frameworks.
  • Perform independent challenge and oversight of KYC/AML processes, and other compliance activities.
  • Chair or support governance committees and forums, ensuring effective escalation and decision-making.
  • Coordinate responses to regulatory inquiries, audits, and inspections, ensuring transparency and timely delivery.
  • Drive enhancements in governance processes, leveraging technology and data analytics for better oversight.


Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Due Diligence experience, or equivalent (including risk management, client service, operations support, or business process management) demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • 8–10 years in compliance, governance, or risk management roles within financial services.
  • Solid AML experience, with good understanding of KYC & AML requirements for various client types would be advantageous
  • Strong understanding of APAC and EMEA regulatory frameworks, including MAS, HKMA, FCA, ESMA, and global standards (FATF, Basel).
  • Demonstrated experience working in a high-pressure environment, working to tight deadlines displaying efficiency and effectiveness on a daily basis
  • Expertise in policy development and governance oversight.
