Position Summary...Walmart Connect (WMC) is seeking a seasoned Senior Director, Learning & Development to lead a high-performing team to scale our advertising, media, and marketing programs.

What you'll do...
  • Lead enterprise learning and development strategy by designing and delivering training solutions that drive business outcomes, influence behavior change, and meet customer and associate needs.
  • Translate business objectives into scalable learning strategies by analyzing learner needs, performance gaps, and operational priorities, and aligning solutions to long‑term business goals.
  • Drive the development and governance of high‑quality learning content by ensuring brand consistency, instructional excellence, accessibility, and best‑in‑class delivery across modalities.
  • Provide strategic direction for learning initiatives by overseeing needs analysis, blended learning design, content lifecycle management, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Partner cross‑functionally with senior leaders and stakeholders to ensure learning solutions are integrated into business operations and delivered on time and on budget.
  • Build and lead a high‑performing learning organization by identifying capability gaps, attracting and developing top talent, supporting succession planning, and fostering mentorship and engagement.
  • Establish learning design standards and success metrics by defining effectiveness measures, evaluating program impact, and expanding learning management and delivery capabilities.
  • Champion a culture of integrity, inclusion, and accountability by embedding Walmart’s values into all learning programs and reinforcing ethical standards and the Open Door Policy.
  • Oversee learning and development budgets by forecasting resource needs, monitoring spend, evaluating financial impact, and ensuring fiscal discipline throughout project lifecycles.
  • Develop and leverage internal and external partnerships to accelerate innovation, expand learning capabilities, and support community engagement and business priorities.
What you’ll bring…
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and scale enterprise learning and development strategies that drive measurable business impact and behavior change.
  • Deep expertise in learning design, adult learning principles, and workforce development, with the ability to translate complex business needs into effective, scalable learning solutions.
  • Proven experience leading and developing large, diverse teams, including coaching leaders, driving engagement, and serving as a change agent in complex organizations.
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills, with the ability to assess learner needs, diagnose performance gaps, and align learning initiatives to short‑ and long‑term business objectives.
  • Advanced stakeholder management and influence skills, including the ability to partner cross‑functionally and communicate effectively with senior leaders.
  • Experience designing and delivering blended learning solutions using a variety of instructional methods, media formats, and learning technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large‑scale initiatives, balance competing priorities, and deliver results in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
  • Financial and operational acumen, including experience planning budgets, forecasting resource needs, and ensuring effective use of learning investments.
Preferred qualifications
  • Master’s or doctoral degree in Learning Design, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in Learning & Development, Sales Training & Enablement, workforce development, or a related discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience leading people and teams, including driving change at scale and influencing across large, complex organizations.
  • 4+ years of experience using instructional design and learning development tools.
  • 4+ years of experience leading cross‑functional initiatives and stakeholder partnerships.
  • 4+ years of people leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Project Management certification or equivalent experience leading large, complex programs.

Bentonville, Arkansas US-30008: The annual salary range for this position is $130,000.00 - $260,000.00
San Bruno, California US-08848: The annual salary range for this position is $169,000.00 - $338,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
