Senior Cybersecurity Project Manager 6 month+ Contract 100% Remote JOB SUMMARY Senior Cybersecurity Project Managers are responsible for the overall direction, management, communication, coordination of status reports, and accountability of project oriented work efforts and success of their projects across the Cybersecurity organization. This position focuses on technical cybersecurity projects related to the design, development, execution, implementation or maintenance of cybersecurity tools, processes, systems, or software. Senior Cybersecurity Project Managers ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards and meet customer expectations. They create scope documents based on approved charters and project plans (work breakdown structures.) They track key milestones and adjust project plans, budget requests and/or resources to meet the needs of customers. Senior Cybersecurity Project Managers are assigned to projects with multiple interdependencies and of moderate to complex complexity, scope, risk and impact to the business. Essential Functions The essential functions listed represent the major duties of this role, additional duties may be assigned. Manage projects with internal and external dependencies, moderate to large scope, risk of moderate severity & impact, integration within functional capabilities, moderate bolthires and typically longer duration within more than one team of resources. Identify & resolve discrepancies in planned costs versus actual bolthires and overall financial management for assigned projects. Responsible for developing and reviewing/validating multiple project plans and approving plans. Participates in change initiatives including tasks and initiatives outside of specific job duties such as BRM workgroups. Responsible for developing and reviewing detailed project plans and tracking financial information. Communicate project status to project team, stakeholders' leadership and Program Managers associated with other projects. Advise project team, customers, and staff on tactical solutions to dealing with barriers within a project. Accountable for active facilitation of project issue resolution, change, risk and dependency management. Effectively identify, track, and manage project risks and issues Accountable for project delivery including meeting time, budget and quality standards and customer expectations. Leads project meetings. Creates and maintains relationships with stakeholders and team members in order to achieve mutual goals. Facilitate and manage the creation of business cases May mentor IT Project Managers. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS The requirements listed below reflect the knowledge, skill, and/or experience required. Required Work Experience 5+ years related work experience in Information Technology and/or Cybersecurity Project Management Required Education Related Bachelor's degree or additional related equivalent work experience IT related field Required Licenses and Certifications Project Management Professional (PMP) and CompTIA Security+ Certifications within 180 Days of FT Hire • *In alignment with GW Cybersecurity requirements, contractors must posses a relevant cybersecurity or technical certification for this role. If a relevant certification is not possessed, the contractor will be expected to obtain a relevant certification within 6 months of hire. (Relevant certification will be defined by hiring manager) Additional Required Qualifications: Knowledge of, and experience with, Information Security frameworks, standards, principles, practices, controls, etc. Ability to manage tasks independently and take ownership of responsibilities. Ability to learn from mistakes and apply constructive feedback. Ability to communicate technical information clearly and articulately. Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment. Advanced proficiency in the use of labor, bolthires management and project tracking and management tools such as MS Project. Advanced proficiency of SDLC disciplines and Agile methodology disciplines. Thorough understanding of the concepts, theories and processes of the Project Management Methodology (PMM). Thorough understanding of business processes, functions and architectures. High critical thinking skills to evaluate alternatives and present solutions that are consistent with business objectives and strategy. Broad knowledge of IT functions. Ability to Lead/Facilitate Core team or Steering meetings to obtain schedule, issues, risk , and dependency updates. Ability to document meeting minutes, action items from project status meetings. Ability to organize and prioritize workload.
