Job Title: School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Location:Washington, DC Area
*Please note, position is in VA and requires VA licensure*

School Year:2024-2025

Employment Type:Full-Time, Onsite

Pay Scale:$31-38/hour (depending on license)

Caseload(s):K-12, multiple openings

Responsibilities:

  • Assess and respond to students' health concerns, injuries, and illnesses promptly, providing appropriate care and referrals as needed.
  • Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans for students with specific medical needs, in collaboration with parents/guardians and other healthcare providers.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential health records, including immunization records, health assessments, and documentation of healthcare services provided.
  • Educate students, parents, and staff on health-related topics, including preventive care, hygiene practices, and emergency procedures.
  • Provide acmodations for students with disabilities as needed per school's requirements
  • Assist students with transportation to and from school as needed

Qualifications:

  • Valid RN or LPN license in VA
  • Experience working as a nurse in a school, pediatric, or related healthcare setting (experience in an educational setting preferred).
  • Experience with disability acmodations (i.e. G-tube and ventilator assistance) preferred
  • Strong clinical skills, including first aid, medication administration, and assessment of mon childhood illnesses and injuries.
  • Excellent munication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, parents, and staff members.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
