Why This Role If you love the craft of estate planning drafting—and want focused, interruption-free work without client meetings or business development—this is for you. What You’ll Own (Outcomes, not busywork) • Turn complex fact patterns into clean, execution-ready documents (marital deduction, GST, irrevocable gifting, funding memos). • Deliver reliably: first draft within agreed scope of services; minimal rework; airtight checklists completed. • Elevate quality: catch issues before they exist; propose smarter structures; improve templates over time. The Work • ~15-20 hours/week, fully remote, asynchronous (only 1–2 hrs/wk overlap for internal sync). • Draft/review: core estate planning documents (W/Trusts, ILITs, GST planning), funding instructions, occasional admin docs on the settlement side. • Collaborate with our lead attorney + EP paralegal through our client management system. You won’t attend client signings. Must-Haves • Active Illinois license (good standing). • 3–5+ years focused on semi-complex estate planning (e.g. marital deduction planning, generation-skipping planning, irrevocable gifting) • Obsessive about details, version control, and checklists. Nice-to-Haves • Ag/entrepreneurial client familiarity. Compensation & Support • Comp: • Senior track (5+ yrs): $85–$120/hr • Mid track (3+ yrs): $60–$80/hr with mentorship. • We cover malpractice and provide you with a CLE stipend • Predictable pipeline and long-term part-time stability.
