They are seeking a detail-oriented Substation CAD Designer to develop accurate substation design drawings and collaborate with team members in a quality-driven environment. Responsibilities Use AutoCAD or similar CAD tools to develop moderately complex substation design drawings with minimal oversight Apply EVS drafting standards and processes to complete assigned tasks accurately and efficiently Check your own work for accuracy and adherence to quality procedures Collaborate with drafters, engineers, and other team members to support project development Participate in improvement initiatives to increase design quality and efficiency Assist in resolving design challenges through research and basic problem-solving Support document tracking and contribute to project documentation as needed Maintain strong attention to detail while managing time and meeting deadlines Prepare construction drawings, documents, calculations, and studies for medium- and high-voltage substation projects, including: General arrangement drawings, site plans, and elevation views, Grounding plans and details, Conduit plans, trench plans, and associated details, Lightning protection design and layout, Illumination design, plans, and details, Bills of materials Skills Associate's degree in Computer-Aided Design or a related field, or equivalent experience Foundational experience with AutoCAD or similar drafting software Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn new concepts quickly Effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid or remote team environment Familiarity with arenaflex Office tools such as Excel, Word, and Outlook Basic understanding of design principles and electrical substation components Benefits Health Insurance (Medical through United Healthcare/UMR) Dental and Vision Insurance STD (Short-Term Disability) and LTD (Long-Term Disability) Insurance Life Insurance EAP (Employee Assistance Program) Paid Time Off 401k Match Choice Benefit Flexible Work Time Performance-Based Bonus Point-Based Recognition Parental Benefits Referral Bonus Certification Bonus Hybrid / Remote Culture Company Overview EVS is a civil engineering company specializing in engineering and surveying services.
