The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of Dropbox's global cloud network while driving improvements in automation and observability.


Responsibilities

  • Ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of Dropbox’s global cloud and corporate network environments across AWS, GCP, OCI, and Azure
  • Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure health using Datadog, and synthetic testing frameworks
  • Contribute to Cloud migrations and optimization of enterprise wireless performance
  • Develop, test, and maintain infrastructure automation using Terraform, Ansible, and Python to streamline provisioning, configuration, and change management
  • Build and maintain observability dashboards and alerts for network and cloud performance, availability, and cost optimization
  • Author and maintain detailed runbooks, operational documentation, and training guides to promote shared understanding and reliability practices
  • Partner with Security to improve Dropbox’s network segmentation, traffic inspection, and zero-trust posture across hybrid and multi-cloud environments

Skills

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding (e.g., physics or mathematics), or equivalent technical experience
  • 9+ years of experience as a Cloud, Cloud Network, or Infrastructure Engineer in production environments
  • Strong knowledge of cloud networking, including VPC/VNet/VCN, routing, IP addressing, Transit Gateway / Virtual WAN / DRG, and IPsec VPNs
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, and/or OCI
  • Experience with hybrid connectivity (Direct Connect, ExpressRoute, Interconnect, FastConnect)
  • Solid background in network security, including firewalls, WAF, and Zero Trust principles
  • Experience with Terraform and Ansible for Infrastructure as Code and automation
  • Background in cloud network architecture, including hub-and-spoke or transit-based designs and multi-region deployments
  • Experience with cloud-native and third-party security platforms, such as WAFs, network firewalls, or Zero Trust / ZTNA solutions
  • Experience developing or supporting CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and network deployments
  • Familiarity with observability and logging platforms and using metrics, logs, and traces to improve reliability
