They are seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to support the global contracts organization of a Fortune 500 enterprise technology and services company, providing day-to-day commercial contracting support for sales-driven transactions. Responsibilities • Provide day-to-day commercial contracting support for sales-driven transactions, beginning with mid-market agreements and expanding into larger, global deals as the engagement progresses • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of client-facing commercial agreements, frequently on customer paper and in coordination with outside counsel • Comfortably negotiate across the full arenaflex of deal size and complexity — from large, global outsourcing and strategic enterprise transactions to smaller, high-volume enterprise agreements — applying the same rigor, judgment, and professionalism to each • Support a portfolio of enterprise technology and services offerings with both domestic and international scope • Partner closely with sales teams, procurement, and business leaders to move transactions forward efficiently while managing legal and commercial risk • Navigate complex, long-standing contract portfolios, including agreements with extensive amendment histories • Lead or contribute to special projects tied to global initiatives, platform upgrades, migrations, and commercial or billing model changes • Demonstrate ownership and leadership in managing deal flow, escalating issues appropriately, and coordinating subject-matter experts when needed • Operate effectively across time zones, including regular interaction with European stakeholders Skills • JD and active U.S. law license in good standing • 7+ years of relevant experience in commercial transactions, gained at a large law firm, respected regional firm, and/or sophisticated in-house legal department • Substantive experience with complex commercial agreements, including technology, outsourcing, SaaS, and procurement-related transactions • Comfort handling both high-stakes, strategic transactions and lower-dollar, high-volume deals with equal care and professionalism • Strong project-management instincts and the ability to drive matters forward in a matrixed organization • Clear, practical communicator with strong negotiation skills and sound business judgment • Must be proactive, visible, and comfortable taking initiative — this is not a back-office role • Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment • A collaborative mindset with the resilience to push deals forward while maintaining strong internal relationships • Prior in-house experience supporting sales organizations • Experience working on global or cross-border transactions • Familiarity with procurement processes and stakeholder management • Willingness and ability to support European business hours when required Benefits • Competitive benefits package, including healthcare, 401(k) with match, paid time off, paid holidays, and paid bar dues Company Overview • Tenor is a premier legal services firm offering Fortune 500 companies and leading law firms unmatched access to exceptional legal talent on either a flexible secondment or direct-hire basis.
