The Immigration Attorney provides legal advice and services to individuals and families seeking assistance with immigration-related matters, including handling removal proceedings and representing clients in hearings before immigration authorities. Responsibilities • Meet with clients to assess their immigration needs • Provide comprehensive legal guidance on available immigration options and help clients understand the requirements and procedures for each type of application • Prepare, review, and file immigration petitions, work permits, green card applications, naturalization forms, and waivers with USCIS and other relevant agencies • Represent clients in immigration court hearings, including removal defense, asylum hearings, and bond hearings before the Executive Office for Immigration Review • Handle appeals before the Board of Immigration Appeals or higher courts, advocating for the client’s case and providing effective legal arguments • Represent clients seeking asylum in the U.S. or other forms of protection from persecution, helping them prepare compelling cases for immigration courts and USCIS • Prepare clients for interviews, hearings, and provide support throughout the asylum process • Represent clients in deportation or removal proceedings, arguing for relief options such as cancellation of removal, asylum, adjustment of status, or other forms of immigration relief • Stay updated on current immigration laws, regulations, and policy changes to provide the best advice and representation for clients, while monitoring any developments that may impact ongoing or future cases • Provide consultants with guidance on new case strategies and potential client inquiries through established law firm communication channels Skills • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited US law school • Active and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas • At least 3-5 years of experience in a similar position • Experience in the legal services industry • Experience in US Immigration Law, including family-based and humanitarian-based petitions • Proficient with learning and troubleshooting new technologies • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment • Proficient with Google Suite or related software • Experience working with legal assistants and support staff to ensure smooth case management • Bi-lingual-Spanish (Required): ability to read, write, and speak grammatically correct Spanish Company Overview • Lincoln-Goldfinch Law is an award-winning immigration and bankruptcy law firm based out of Austin, Texas that serves people from all 50 states and from across the globe in both English and Spanish.
