You will design electrical raceway systems and model 3D equipment items for power plant systems. Collaboration with engineering to ensure compliance with applicable codes and fill is essential. Additionally, you will plan and develop drawings for production work, understand and develop quality checking capabilities in 3D models, and resolve comments on checked drawings.<br><br><strong>Responsibilities<br><br></strong><ul><li>Lead electrical design projects, including client meetings. </li><li>Manage scope, budget, and schedule for electrical design projects. </li><li>Design electrical raceway systems, including duct bank, tray, and above-ground conduit. </li><li>Model 3D equipment items for power plant systems. </li><li>Route cable through raceway design adhering to applicable codes. </li><li>Plan and develop drawings for production work, including design studies and layout. </li><li>Develop quality checking capabilities in 3D models for interferences and constructability. </li><li>Resolve comments on checked drawings and implement necessary changes. </li><li>Complete as-built drawings using RFIs, ECNs, and red-marked drawings from construction. </li><li>Collaborate with the integrated EPC team and clients on RFIs, deliverable reviews, and change order requests. </li><li>Foster high-performing teams and mentor team members, providing technical guidance. </li><li>Seek ways to improve customer satisfaction and operating efficiencies. </li><li>Develop, review, and implement guidelines and procedures for design standardization. </li><li>Stay updated with the latest technology and industry practices. </li><li>Interpret and incorporate design codes and specifications. </li><li>Lead quality checks of design and engineering projects. </li><li>Establish credibility through technical competency and team leadership. <br><br></li></ul><strong>Essential Skills<br><br></strong><ul><li>Proficiency in electrical design, schematic design, SCADA, and AutoCAD 3D. </li><li>Knowledge of Aconex Document Controls software. </li><li>Clear understanding of construction and constructability practices. </li><li>Working knowledge of proposal and estimate processes. </li><li>Experience in electrical power fieldwork or as a resident designer on job sites. </li><li>Ability to utilize both 2D and 3D applications for engineering drawings. </li><li>Advanced understanding of design software such as SCADA Systems, PanelDES, ElecDES, E3D, Plant 3D, Smartplant 3D, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Excel. </li><li>Familiarity with ANSI, IEEE, API, NEC, and other industry codes and standards. <br><br></li></ul><strong>Additional Skills & Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li>Associate degree in drafting technology, design, or related fields, or a high school diploma with relevant coursework/experience. </li><li>Eight years of experience in the related work field. </li><li>Ability to learn and effectively utilize new design software programs. </li><li>Comfortable with change and ambiguity; adaptable, collaborative, and a systems thinker. </li><li>Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplined project team environment. </li><li>Proactively provides guidance on department design guides and standards. </li><li>Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and tasks with set expectations. <br><br></li></ul>Work Environment<br><br>Work is performed during normal operating hours, with the possibility of overtime and weekends as required. The role involves collaboration with Project Managers, Engineers, Designers, and constructability personnel to resolve design or drawing issues.
