Responsible for providing professional nursing care, exercising professional judgment and necessary
intervention to patients, and following established standards and practices. Assists Radiologist and staff
in coordinating patient care. Establishes intravenous injection sites and provides contrast material
injections under the direction and supervision of a Radiologist. Provides both pre- and postinterventional follow up, as necessary. Reports to the Medical Director for clinical issues and is
accountable to the respective Team Leader for administrative and routine issues. Performs i-STAT
analysis, orders supplies, and maintains i-STAT device/quality controls.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES*
1. Provides professional nursing care to patients. Administers prescribed medications and
treatments in accordance with nursing standards. Establishes injection sites and provides
contrast materials. Administers injections in accordance with department policies and
Radiologist's supervision.
2. Maintains supplies needed for nursing intervention. Ensures use of appropriate techniques
consistent with the Nurse Practice Act. Prepares equipment and aids Radiologist during
treatment, examination, and testing of patients, as needed.
3. Observes, records, and reports the patient's condition and reaction to drugs and extravasations
and treatments to Radiologists, as needed. Administers medication, as directed by Radiologists.
Educates patient/family about diagnostic procedures, medications, nutrition, and maintenance
of health and wellness. Documents all adverse events on Outpatient Services Patient
Incident/Event Report Form.
4. Assists Radiologist and/or Technologists with procedures, as necessary.

5. Records and maintains appropriate notes, including, but not limited to, vital signs, progress and
nurse's notes, medication administration, and patient consents.
6. Performs CLIA-waived lab tests, as ordered; documents results; maintains and documents QC for lab
equipment in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations.
7. Triages patients' conditions and interventions, as needed. Exercises professional judgment in triaging
and patient interventions. Maintains an excellent level of customer service. Maintains a professional
demeanor at all times. May be required to work irregular and extended shifts, as deemed necessary for
quality patient care.
8. Responds to/refers incoming patient treatment-related phone calls. Instructs patient and family
regarding medications and treatment instructions.
9. Maintains patient confidentiality.
10. Understands that predictable attendance and promptness in returning from breaks and meal
periods is expected and required.
11. Other duties as may be assigned.

Shift: Days (Monday to Friday)
Hours: 7:30 am - 4:30 pm
Wage range: $55-$65 per hour

Required Skills:


1. RN Degree.
2. California RN License/BLS Certification.
3. Minimum of one year professional nursing experience. Clinic experience preferred.
4. Knowledge of professional nursing theory, regulations, and practices to give and evaluate patient
care.
5. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish/maintain a safe work
environment.
6. Skill in applying and modifying the principles, methods, and techniques of professional nursing to
provide ongoing patient care.
7. Skill in identifying problems and recommending solutions.
8. Skill in preparing/maintaining records, writing reports, and responding to correspondence.
9. Ability to maintain quality control standards.
10. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
11. Ability to exercise professional judgment in routine, urgent, and emergency situations.
