This opportunity will remain online based on business needs which may be before or after the specified date.<br><br><strong>Role Description</strong><br><br>The Technical Operations team ensures that network operations are reliable and efficient by monitoring network performance, performing planned maintenance, proactively identifying and repairing network difficulties, and responding to network connectivity issues. <br><br>GFiber's complex network generates a constant stream of new challenges that require innovative solutions and leveraging the newest technologies. As a Regional Repair and Maintenance (R&M) Lead for the greater Austin and San Antonio areas, you will ensure that network operations are reliable and efficient. You'll accomplish this by monitoring network performance, performing planned maintenance, proactively identifying/repairing network difficulties, and responding to network connectivity challenges. In your role, you and your team will keep the network stable and ensure that our users stay connected with our suite of applications, products, and services. You will perform critical tasks that maintain and improve network operations, and you will take the technical lead in ensuring a reliable and efficient operating network.<br><br><strong>In this role, you'll:</strong><br><ul><li>Manage the planning and execution of complex and competing tasks that support our ongoing network operations which includes operational activities from budget planning, schedule maintenance, stakeholder management, metric reporting, and national level initiatives.</li><li>Develop and grow a talented Repair and Maintenance team.</li><li>Maintain GFiber's infrastructure in the Austin and San Antonio markets on an ongoing basis, supporting new acceptance of active network equipment/electronics, and new customer installations.</li><li>Implement a repair and maintenance program to fulfill internal service requirements, including being available during non-standard business hours as needed to handle outage resolution and off-hour escalations.</li><li>Collect, analyze and report on network performance to gather trends and provide insight into new methods to reduce the frequency and duration of network interruptions of service.</li><li>Perform new plant testing and acceptance to ensure products meet quality standards and provide the best experience possible.</li><li>Establish and manage positive vendor relationships through effective facilitations and communication.</li></ul><br><strong>At a minimum we'd like you to have:</strong><br><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Economics, Management, Engineering, Telecommunications, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.</li><li>8 years of experience with fiber network management and/or deployments.</li><li>8 years of people and vendor management experience.</li><li>Experience with budgeting, forecasting costs, project reporting, network capacity planning, quality assurance, network equipment turn-up, testing, and acceptance.</li><li>Ability to work non-standard working hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.</li></ul><br><strong>It's preferred if you have:</strong><br><ul><li>12 years of experience with fiber network management and/or deployments.</li><li>12 years of people and vendor management experience.</li><li>Experience with using data analytics.</li><li>Experience managing a customer connection program, including the full customer connect lifecycle.</li><li>Experience supporting network escalations and providing detailed technical leadership for troubleshooting and fault resolution.</li><li>Experience with network drawings (GIS), interpreting fiber test results, installing and basic configuration of enterprise or carrier grade networking equipment (routers, switches, firewalls, encoders, optics and DWDM).</li></ul><br><br>The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $154,000 - $169,000 + bonus + cash award + benefits.
