Duties & Responsibilities

Type of Role: Individual contributor, experienced

Role Specific Job Duties:

  • Execute on tasks and responsibilities, as assigned
  • Support resource to Managers and the Director of the team providing leverage to execute on tasks and responsibilities
  • Time spent interacting with clients: +50%
  • Role may include occasional travel to visit clients or attend business development events

Function Specific Job Duties:

  • Help Managers and Senior Associates manage active investment holdings including direct equity, direct private debt, and fund investments held by UMB Financial Corp’s balance sheet and high-net worth client capital
  • Execute live transactions across M&A, debt and equity capital raises, including coordination among management teams, sponsors, advisors, and internal UMB teams on a team with Managers and the Director
  • Conduct new investment due diligence, including reviewing data room files, organizing requests and information flow, analyzing financial and operational data, and summarizing findings
  • Develop and maintain three-statement financial models to support transaction execution and portfolio management oversight, including discounted cash flows, leveraged buyouts, and comparable company analysis
  • Conduct detailed industry and company research, including competitive positioning, transaction valuation comps, market sizing, and benchmarking
  • Prepare client-facing materials such as presentations, memo’s, financial analysis, or other miscellaneous reports
  • Contribute to and complete audit, examination, regulatory and compliance items
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

MINIMUM:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3+ years of experience in a relevant field OR combination of education and experience that provides an equivalent background.

PREFERRED:

  • Applicable experience within Financial Services

Knowledge & Skills

MINIMUM:

  • Demonstrates verbal and written communications skills
  • Demonstrates proficient knowledge of Microsoft products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Demonstrates ability to work independently
  • Demonstrates strong organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrates ability to work collaboratively on deal teams of 2-3 people effectively

PREFERRED:

  • Knowledge of credit or equity financial modeling
  • Knowledge of financial accounting standards

Work Environment

  • Must be able to travel to visit new and existing clients when necessary

Compensation Range:

$57,760.00 - $124,170.00
