Your day to day:

As our Payroll & Pension Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the full end-to-end payroll process for our London office of 250 colleagues, as well as being our expert on pensions and supporting our colleagues with any queries. This is a highly collaborative role, where you will be maintaining compliance and streamlining payroll procedures for efficiency.

You'll be a part of the People function, which also has a Group Payroll Manager, who is responsible for our other two sites, so close collaboration is important in this role.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and manage the full end-to-end payroll process for London, ensuring a high level of accuracy
  • Be the lead and expert on pensions for London, as well as supporting our pension scheme in Milton Keynes and Motherwell
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and industry standards
  • Collaborate with our People team, Finance, and legal teams to ensure seamless integration of payroll-related processes, policies, and systems
  • Monitor changes to payroll regulations and legislation to ensure the organisation stays compliant in all regions
  • Provide strategic insight and guidance on payroll-related matters to the Chief People Officer and other senior leadership
  • Manage relationships with payroll providers and other external stakeholders as required
  • Analyse payroll data to identify opportunities for optimisation and cost-efficiency, providing solutions that align with the company's strategic goals
  • Auditing the payroll to make sure it satisfies all government regulations.
  • Responsible for filing P45s, P60s, P11Ds


Who are you:

  • Proven experience in managing payroll for a full site.
  • Strong knowledge of UK and international payroll regulations and pensions
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a strong ability to analyse complex payroll data
  • Being the approachable, supportive, and professional face of London payroll
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with the People team, Finance, and senior leadership.
  • A proactive, solution-oriented mindset, with a track record of driving change and improvements.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead prioritised projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with payroll systems and the integration of payroll technologies is an advantage.
  • A degree-level qualification or equivalent professional certification in payroll or related fields is desirable.
