Services can include but are not limited to stocking and merchandising products at shelf, providing reset support in remodels and new stores, executing continuity/Home Store and cycle coverage programs for a particular group of customers and may include ordering of products. At times the Retail Merchandiser will assist in stretch projects where needed. The Retail Merchandiser can receive directions from Sr. Retail Merchandiser, Retail Merchandising Coordinator/Supervisor/Manager/or Director. Job Responsibilities: Core Responsibilities * Ability to read, understand and implement planograms in store. Adjust sections as necessary based on evaluation with or without planograms. Report feedback on specific planogram compliance or item availability concerns, to the appropriate parties. * Visits retailers on Home Store or Field Sales program on a provided schedule, to execute customer specific plans. Providing effective feedback and follow-up. Perform duties in accordance with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) policies and procedures, as appropriate for the location * Rotate stock and remove out-of-code products. Process Merchandise returns and issue credits according to company policy. * Interpret and facilitate internal reports related to assigned project. Complete required paperwork accurately and timely. * Seize opportunities to increase sales through creative merchandising Techniques. Sell promotional and sales programs as assigned. Follow through on customer product requests. * Responsible for maintaining effective business relations with customers and UNFI Stakeholders, this is accomplished through in-person interactions at store, via phone calls, and emails to the sales team and customers. * Order products that align with customer needs and effectively display them in stores. Assist in hanging Shelf Tags, and promotional POS/POP Materials and resets. * Develop and implement action plans with assistance from Supervisor or Account Manager on assigned projects. Ensure project deadlines are met and completed within budget. * Positively Engage customers on the full Professional Services Portfolio to strengthen customer/UNFI relationship. Performs other duties as assigned. Job Requirements: Education/ Certifications: * High School degree required. * Valid Driver's License is necessary. * Auto Insurance levels that meet UNFI requirements. Experience: * Minimum 1-year related experience in Retail or Distribution. * Prior customer service experience in a retail setting. * Food related product experience desired. Knowledge/Skills/ Abilities: * Ability to work independently. * Strong organizational skills, time management skills and attention to detail. * Ability to read, understand and implement planograms. * Basic computer skills involving Microsoft Suite of Software. * Excellent customer service and communication skills. * Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available. Work Environment: Remote Role: * This position is classified as remote where the associate will perform remote work from their primary residence. Remote associates are welcome to work from the office but are not required to do so. While remote associates are not required to work from an office on a regular basis, they may be required to come to the office or other UNFI locations for necessary business reasons or if directed to do so by their manager. Travel (major): * Travel is required up to (95)% for this position.
