Part-time Custodial Supervisor (1099) – Annapolis, MD

SanderMan Group is seeking a Part-Time Working Custodial Supervisor to oversee and actively participate in cleaning operations for a two-story office facility with carpet and tile flooring, including offices, restrooms/locker rooms, kitchen, conference room, and common areas.​

● Job title: Part-Time Working Custodial Supervisor (1099)

● Location: Annapolis, MD

● Schedule: Part-time, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm, 5 days per week, with on-site presence during cleaning shifts to supervise and perform cleaning tasks.​

Areas and scope of responsibility

● Responsible for both supervising and performing cleaning for:

● First floor: Three offices; two locker room-style restrooms (men’s/women’s) with metal lockers, showers, toilets/urinals, sinks; vestibule; hallways.​

● Second floor: Five offices; two restrooms (men’s/women’s) with toilets/urinals, sinks; conference room; Team Leads room; kitchen; hallways.​

● Ensures all carpet and tile floors, offices, restrooms, kitchen, and common areas consistently meet SanderMan Group quality standards and client expectations.​

Key responsibilities (working supervisor)

● Lead by example by performing routine custodial tasks, including restroom/locker room cleaning, trash removal, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and disinfection in assigned areas.

● Work alongside custodial staff during scheduled shifts, ensuring all daily and periodic tasks are completed on time and to standard.

● Assign tasks at the start of each shift, verify completion using checklists, and correct any deficiencies directly, including reworking areas as needed.

● Conduct regular walkthroughs and quality inspections while simultaneously performing cleaning duties, documenting findings and implementing corrective actions.

● Train and coach team members on proper cleaning techniques, use of equipment and chemicals, and safety procedures while on the job.

● Monitor and restock supplies (chemicals, paper products, trash liners, etc.) during shifts and communicate replenishment needs to management.

● Enforce safety practices on the floor, including use of PPE, wet floor signs, and correct chemical handling, and address unsafe behaviors immediately.

● Communicate operational issues, staffing needs, and maintenance concerns to SanderMan Group management and serve as the on-site contact for routine client feedback.

Qualifications

● 2 years’ experience as a custodial supervisor, lead, or senior cleaner in commercial/office environments, with a willingness to perform hands-on cleaning as a core part of the role.

● Demonstrated ability to balance direct labor (cleaning) with supervision, inspections, and staff coaching during active shifts.

● Ability to lift 25–40 lbs and to stand, walk, bend, and reach for the entire shift while performing cleaning tasks with or without reasonable accommodation.

● Strong communication and organizational skills; able to give clear direction and maintain professional interaction with client representatives.

● Reliable transportation, strong attendance, and flexibility to adjust hours based on site and staffing needs.

● Willingness to undergo background check and, if required, drug screening.

Schedule, pay, and how to apply

● Schedule: Part-time evenings, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm, 5 days a week, working on-site during cleaning shifts to supervise and perform custodial duties.

● Compensation: $18.00 – $21.00 per hour, based on experience. Overtime paid in accordance with Maryland law.

● This is a 1099 independent contractor role only; the individual or business engaged will not be treated as an employee of SanderMan Group or the client
