This position is located in Spruce Woods Provincial Park.<br><br>Duties:<br><br>Working under the direction of the Park District Manager (PDM), the incumbent is responsible for the planning, coordination, implementation and supervision of maintenance, operations and construction activities within the Spruce Woods District made up of Spruce Woods, Criddle Vane, and Seton Provincial Parks along with Holland wayside and occasionally other Provincial Parks or wayside areas within the Region.<br><br>Qualifications:<br><br><strong>Essential:<br><br></strong><ul><li>Experience planning, organizing, and supervising construction or infrastructure projects.</li><li>Experience supervising and leading staff including scheduling, performance management, training and direction.</li><li>Experience providing cost estimates, working with financial budgets, purchasing and inventory control.</li><li>Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to cooperate and effectively work with staff, user groups and stakeholders.</li><li>Ability to solve problems and make sound decisions.</li><li>Experience working independently with the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize a complex workload with strict deadlines.</li><li>Experience maintaining park, commercial or municipal facilities (such as roads, beaches, campgrounds, day use areas, portable water systems, public buildings, ground maintenance and recreational areas). </li><li>Experience and/or training in Workplace Safety and Health and safe work practices.</li><li>Experience operating, maintaining, and repairing equipment (such as 1/2 ton trucks, tractors, ride on mowers, ATV's, outboard motors, snowmobiles and other small and heavy equipment).</li><li>Strong verbal communication skills.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Desired:<br><br></strong><ul><li>Experience with water treatment, testing, and distribution.</li><li>Experience working with Microsoft Office or similar computer applications. <br><br></li></ul>Conditions of Employment:<br><br><ul><li>Must be legally entitled to work in Canada</li><li>Must possess and maintain a valid full stage Manitoba Class 5 driver’s license and be willing and able to acquire and maintain a valid full stage Manitoba Class 3 driver’s license with air brake endorsement within one (1) year of the employment start date</li><li>Must be physically able to perform the duties and responsibilities of this position which may require some moderate lifting, bending, walking and working in various types of outdoor conditions</li><li>Must possess Manitoba Water & Wastewater Facility Operators Certification or be willing and able to acquire and maintain certification within three (3) years of the employment start date.
