About You and This Role

Dow is offering paid industrial apprenticeship opportunities across multiple U.S. manufacturing locations as part of its structured U.S. Apprenticeship Program. This program combines on-the-job training at chemical manufacturing facilities with classroom education at a partnered community college.

The apprenticeship typically lasts two to three years and allows participants to gain real-world experience while earning a company-funded Associates degree in a relevant technical field. Apprentices receive competitive hourly pay, paid tuition, and select benefits throughout the program. Each apprentice is guided by a designated program leader who provides ongoing support and mentorship.

Graduates who successfully complete the program are strongly considered for full-time employment with Dow. Participants who accept a full-time role are required to commit to working with the company for two years following program completion.

Compensation:

Hourly pay ranges from $21.69 to $25.38, determined by the company and not subject to negotiation.

Start Dates:

Planned hiring is expected around June 8, 2026, with the possibility of extending to August 3, 2026.

Role Responsibilities by Discipline

Process Technology

Apprentices support plant operations by monitoring equipment, managing production systems, and assisting with safe chemical processing. Responsibilities include operating control systems, adjusting equipment parameters, transferring materials, following operational procedures, and identifying safety, quality, or equipment issues. Apprentices also assist with maintenance coordination, equipment isolation, and permit processes while maintaining strong environmental and safety standards.

Primary Responsibilities and Key Skills

  • Operate and monitor production equipment within assigned plant areas
  • Adjust process variables such as pressure, temperature, flow, and levels
  • Transfer materials safely using hoses, valves, and related systems
  • Follow standard operating procedures and safety protocols
  • Identify abnormal operating conditions and report maintenance needs
  • Support equipment isolation, lockout, and permit activities

  • If already enrolled in a related degree program, at least two full semesters must remain
  • Preferred minimum GPA of 2.5 for recent graduates or current students

Eligibility and Work Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old by the start date
  • Valid U.S. drivers license required, subject to motor vehicle record review
  • Must obtain or qualify for a TWIC card
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
