Hospice - Nurse Practitioner - Henry County/SW Atlanta/Clayton and Cobb/Cherokee - Full-time Opportunity


Hospice Atlanta/Visiting Nurse Health Systems (VNHS)
is hiring compassionate, dedicated, and skilled Nurse Practitioners (NP) for our Palliative Division serving Henry County/SW Atlanta/Clayton, and Cobb/Cherokee counties. This is a Full-time opportunity.

The Nurse Practitioner collaborates with a physician in an active practice to deliver end-of-life and palliative care. The clinician in this position also serves as a consultant, advocating for area hospice programs and providing education for healthcare professionals. The purpose of this position is to provide a bridge between hospitals and hospices, improving care for all terminally ill patients and better managing hospice patients.

What you need:
Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing, and a Master's degree in Nursing.

Licensure/Certifications:
  • Must have reliable transportation, a GA driver's license, and valid vehicle insurance.
  • Must hold a current Georgia license for Advanced Practice Nursing.
  • Must be certified as either:
    • Gerontologic Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Program, or the American Nurses Credentialing Center; or Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board or the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
    • Preferred - Certificate of Added Qualification in gerontology, elder care, or care of the older adult provided by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, the American Nurses Credentialing Center, or a national nurse practitioner certification board.
    • Must be CPR Certified
  • Previous Experience: Minimum of two years in the management of Medicare patients. Prior experience with home-based medical care is a plus.
  • Knowledge/Training: Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid and other funding source regulations as applied to home health care services. Demonstrates knowledge and competence in advanced practice clinical skills, including the nursing process and utilization management.

Compensation:
$95,204 - $142,806
