Job Description Career.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Part-Time Medical Transcriptionist to join our dedicated team in supporting healthcare providers across various specialties. In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately transcribing dictated medical reports, patient histories, progress notes, and other sensitive medical information into electronic health records (EHR) systems. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the clarity, completeness, and confidentiality of patient data, directly contributing to the quality of patient care and the efficiency of medical practices. This position demands a keen understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology, coupled with exceptional listening and typing skills. Key Responsibilities • Accurately transcribe dictated medical reports, including patient histories, physical exams, operative notes, consultation reports, and discharge summaries. • Ensure all transcribed documents adhere to medical, legal, and ethical standards, maintaining strict patient confidentiality (HIPAA compliance). • Review and edit transcribed reports for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and consistency, making necessary corrections. • Verify the accuracy of patient demographics and other identifying information in each report. • Utilize reference materials and medical dictionaries to ensure correct spelling and usage of medical terms. • Manage transcription workflow efficiently to meet daily productivity and turnaround time requirements. • Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals regarding clarification of dictations when necessary. • Maintain knowledge of current medical terminology, disease processes, and treatment methods.
