Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to join our dynamic team remotely. Responsibilities • Prepare and submit accurate insurance claims using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with all billing regulations. • Review medical records and documentation to assign appropriate ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT coding, and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) classifications for proper billing. • Verify patient insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility to facilitate smooth claim processing. • Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through effective communication with insurance companies and patients to resolve discrepancies. • Maintain detailed records of billing activities, claims status updates, and payment histories for audit purposes. • Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation or coding issues that may impact reimbursement. • Stay current with industry updates related to ICD coding changes, medical billing regulations, and payer policies to ensure compliance.
