About Simplicity

For over 200 years, Simplicity Patterns Inc has inspired designers and makers to bring their visions to life. Now, we’re entering an exciting new era, and we’re honoring the Simplicity legacy while reimagining what’s possible for the next generation of creators.

Recently spun off from a larger holding group, Simplicity Patterns Inc is now independently owned by its leadership team - the same entrepreneurs who transformed Backstage from a legacy print publication into a profitable digital marketplace. Our brands include familiar and emerging names in the pattern-making space, including Simplicity, McCall’s, Butterick, Vogue Patterns, Know Me, New Look, and Burda Style. Together, we’re investing in every aspect of the business: modernizing our technology, improving the infrastructure, and building a flat culture where good ideas win, initiative is rewarded, and talented people can make a real impact.

The Opportunity:

Simplicity is seeking a remote Marketplace Manager – Amazon to own our Amazon channel. As we plan on adding additional marketplace channels down the line, you’ll also have the opportunity to support future expansion initiatives. You’ll be joining the Sales and Marketing Department, where you’ll work closely with (and report to) the VP of Revenue. While our team is small, our impact is felt across the organization. We are analytical and proactive problem solvers who enjoy digging into data to unlock opportunities for growth and expansion.

The Marketplace Manager – Amazon is a newly created role focused on driving profitable growth across Amazon Seller Central and Vendor Central. You will be hands-on in the platform, optimizing listings, managing performance, improving contribution margin, and strengthening catalog health. While future marketplace expansion is anticipated, the initial and primary focus of this role will be 100% Amazon. This is an execution-focused, full-time individual contributor role. How You’ll Make an Impact:

  • Own Amazon Seller & Vendor Central; your success in this role will be tied to performance of these channels

  • Analyze contribution margin; you’ll assess advertising spend, cost of goods sold, fees, and returns to identify opportunities for improvement

  • Manage pricing, promotional strategy, and assortment planning; oversee chargeback process

  • Track trends and algorithm changes; experiment and test new growth strategies

  • Develop and execute annual and seasonal growth plans

  • Build detailed reports to communicate progress, challenges, and opportunities

  • Create alignment across revenue, operations, product, and finance functions

Who You Are:

  • You have 5+ years of direct, hands-on experience operating within Amazon Vendor Central (1P) and Seller Central (3P)

  • Proven experience owning Amazon P&L performance, with a track record of delivering profitable growth

  • Background in branded consumer products required; sewing, craft, hobby, or seasonal categories preferred

  • Analytical and data-driven, you’re an expert at evaluating and applying optimization, SEO, catalog management, and pricing strategies

  • Comfortable partnering with supply chain and operations to anticipate and forecast inventory needs, including seasonal promotions

  • Proactive, curious, and strategic, you follow trends and platform changes and experiment with different strategies to improve visibility and conversion

  • Organized and meticulous, you build reports that tell a story

  • Proficient with advanced Excel functions; must be comfortable with driving analysis using Excel and other tools (ex. SQL)
