Market Expansion & Business Development Manager - Philippines Energy Trading

Location: Singapore

Focus: Philippines and Southeast Asia

Overview

We are seeking a Market Expansion & Business Development Manager to help establish and grow our energy trading presence in the Philippines market.

Based in Singapore, you will play a key role in building our Philippines focused trading capability from the ground up, including setting up a new entity, securing market access, establishing local partnerships, and supporting early commercial development.

This is a hands on, entrepreneurial role for someone who enjoys building new markets and driving commercial growth.

Key Responsibilities

1. Market Entry and Entity Setup (0 to 1 Build)

  • Lead the setup of a new operating entity to support Philippines focused trading activities.
  • Manage registrations, basic licensing steps, and foundational requirements for market access.
  • Oversee the process for registering with relevant exchanges, platforms, and trading counterparties.
  • Support the creation of simple internal processes for compliance, operations, and commercial readiness.

2. Business Development and Commercial Growth

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in the Philippines energy and commodity markets.
  • Build strong relationships with potential clients, partners, and key market participants.
  • Support commercial discussions, proposals, and the early stages of deal execution.

3. External Engagement

  • Serve as the Singapore based contact point for Philippines related market engagement.
  • Represent the company to external stakeholders including brokers, partners, and industry institutions.

4. Internal Coordination

  • Collaborate with trading, legal, risk, finance, and operations teams to align market entry activities.
  • Provide insights and market feedback to shape our Philippines market expansion strategy.

Requirements

  • Experience in business development, market expansion, or commercial roles (energy or commodities ).
  • Exposure to roles involving new market setup, entity establishment, or early stage operational build out is a plus.
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple initiatives.
  • Interest in the Philippines energy and commodity market environment.
