Job Description:

Summary
Applications Support Manager will supervise and lead a team of engineers that will be responsible for the stability, accessibility and performance of production application environments which support Transportation Management operations

Essential Functions
  • Manage, support, and train staff to ensure they can work inside their boundaries to complete their jobs effectively
  • Lead application delivery leads in the support of production applications. Oversight of level 3 incident resolutions, performance monitoring, and continuous feedback loop with the focus on obtaining application environment stability, reliability and efficiency
  • Collect and report metrics to senior management on application environment status
  • Think innovatively to improve customer’s application experience through automation, process improvement, and service
  • Understand project and customer support needs to develop resource forecasting
  • Provide end-user application installation, configuration, support and trouble shooting. Work as part of the IT staff to ensure end-users have and are able to utilize the IT infrastructure as it pertains to their specific daily job duties as well as assist with the network upgrades.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Proactively learn new technologies to support applications as they become part of the Ryder portfolio
  • Work closely with Project and Team Managers to provide status and other required information
  • Work directly with software development to assist in the creation and maintenance of information systems infrastructure and data integration supporting all aspects of daily business operations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, and supervisors) to produce high quality work with minimal supervision

  • Ability to effectively and clearly communicate to the end-user community, tailoring the communication style/method to the specific need, and be able to discuss technical solutions in a non-technical manner
  • Organization skills with the ability to prioritize work effectively
  • Detail-oriented with excellent follow-up practices
  • Lean background in quality management (preferred)
  • Root Cause analysis
  • Service Now intermediate preferred
  • Microsoft Office intermediate required
  • Linux and Unix knowledge/experience intermediate preferred

  • Transportation Management Systems intermediate required
  • Microsoft SQL and Oracle SQL to create, select, execute and delete statements intermediate preferred

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required in transportation, logistics and computer science or business
  • Four (4) years or more in IT, preferably in transportation and/or logistics required
  • Four (4) years or more remote technical support preferred
  • Five (5) years or more transportation management applications, preferably with JDA preferred
  • Five (5) years or more as a leader managing resources required
  • Service Now intermediate preferred
  • Microsoft Office intermediate required
  • Linux and Unix knowledge/experience intermediate preferred
  • Performance Monitoring and analysis intermediate preferred
  • Transportation Management Systems intermediate required
  • Microsoft SQL and Oracle SQL to create, select, execute and delete statements intermediate preferred

Compensation Information:

The compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience; education, including relevant degrees or certifications; work location; market data/ranges; internal equity; internal salary ranges; etc. The position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentive plan based on the level and/or type. Compensation ranges for the position are below:

Pay Type:

Salaried

Minimum Pay Range:

$100,000.00

Maximum Pay Range:

$140,000.00
