Position Overview:

The Lending Application Scrum Master is responsible for leading the agile delivery of processes and technology tied to strategic initiatives for the Company, driving requirements, timelines, and execution within a fast-paced lending environment.

Ideal candidates for this position have strong communication and coaching skills, are able to work across organizational boundaries to bridge business operations and technology with knowledge of Encompass and the mortgage origination lifecycle.

Essential Functions of the Role:

  • Serve as Scrum Master for cross-functional mortgage and technology teams.
  • Lead Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives).
  • Gather, document, and translate business requirements into user stories and functional specifications.
  • Manage multiple projects from initiation through delivery, including timelines, risks, and stakeholder communication.
  • Partner with operations, underwriting, processing, compliance, and IT teams to implement system and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with IT and third-party vendors on integrations and enhancements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Essential Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong communication and coaching skills
  • Ability to work across organizational boundaries
  • Extensive knowledge of Encompass
  • Knowledge of the mortgage origination lifecycle
  • Knowledge of loan origination system integrations, APIs, and reporting tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of three (3) years as a Scrum Master, Business Analyst, Project Manager or a hybrid of these roles required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of mortgage originations experience required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of recent experience with Encompass administration.
  • Experience with JIRA required.

Education / Licensing Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience of education and experience required.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Project Management Professional (PMP), or Agile certification required.

Working Conditions:

  • Fast-paced environment.
  • Requires normal vision (corrected) both close and distant.
  • Requires normal hearing levels (corrected).
  • Requires working at a desk to use a phone and computer for extended periods of time.
  • Requires sitting, bending.
  • Works effectively with frequent interruptions.
  • Lifting requirements of 25 lbs. occasionally.

Pay: $120,000 to $140,000 annually depending on experience, with eligibility for a discretionary bonus.
