Great American's Mergers & Acquisitions Liability Division underwrites primary and excess Representations & Warranties (R&W) Insurance, Tax Indemnity Insurance and Tax Credit Insurance. This division handles policies of up to $50 million in limits. The M&A Division of Great American is currently recruiting an Underwriting Analyst to join our team. The Underwriting Analyst will assist the mergers and acquisitions liability division in underwriting representations and warranties insurance and will work remotely. • Assists underwriters on Representation & Warranties deals • Review non-disclosure agreements, joinders, and non-reliance agreements • Draft excess policies and provide other support in the policy drafting process • Gathers information on new and renewal business and change requests to support underwriter decision making. • Organizes the underwriting information to speed decision making on the part of the underwriter. • Investigates discrepancies in the information gathered. • Researches questions from producers and principals as requested by underwriter(s). • Provides information to Processing that is needed to issue policies and endorsements on a timely basis. • Inputs submission and policy information into underwriting workstation. • Process submissions, quotes and binders and respond to broker inquiries on tight deadlines • Follows up with brokers and underwriters to obtain key underwriting documents needed to issue policies. • Issues policies on a timely basis. • Assists in maintenance of electronic files, including policy checklist spreadsheet tracking key policy and underwriting documents. • Researches questions from brokers and underwriters. • Reviews complex insurance submissions for mergers & acquisitions transactions and tax risks. • Prepares a daily summary of new submissions for the underwriters. • Inputs each submission, and process quotes and binders in the underwriting workstation. • Assists underwriters with e-filing and other tasks as necessary. • Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree, paralegal certificate generally preferred. • Generally, 5+ years of experience of administrative experience with an insurance carrier, agency or broker. Insurance or M&A experience is preferred. • Must have strong computer skills including MS Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat. • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks. • Must have excellent organizational skills. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines • Work may be required outside of ordinary business hours Business Unit: Mergers & Acquisitions Salary Range: $70,000.00 -$85,000.00 Benefits: Compensation varies by role, position level, and location. Individual pay is influenced by skills, education, training, certifications, experience, and the role's scope and complexity, along with business needs.
