Join the Port Authority’s Procurement Department as an Inventory Control intern to gain hands-on experience in warehouse and inventory management, logistics, and supply chain optimization. Your Role Here’s what you will be doing: • Assist in updating data in the SAP inventory management system to categorize warehouse items accurately. • Expedite open orders by contacting vendors to determine delivery dates. • Support projects aimed at enhancing division operations and improving customer service. • Analyze and research sustainable and environmentally friendly products for warehouse inventory. • Assist in resolving vendor billing issues. • Help implement innovative technology solutions, including AI-driven tools, to optimize supply chain management and improve efficiency. About You The company is looking for candidates who meet the following qualifications: • Enrollment at a college or university during the internship period. • Major in Supply Chain Management or a related discipline. • Knowledge and interest in Logistics, Inventory Management, and Procurement. • Problem-solving skills and a high level of customer service. • Experience with bolthires applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive. • Excellent written and oral communication skills. • Interest in contributing to the success of the New York and New Jersey region. • Interest in public service and/or transportation. • Willingness to learn. Compensation & Benefits • Hourly rate range: $18.07 to $30.31, determined by internship type and rising school year. • Option to opt in to the New York State and Local Retirement System. • Access to Employee Business Resource Groups. • Facility tours, career panels, and social/networking events. Training & Development Interns will gain practical skills in supply chain management, problem-solving, and cross-department collaboration through hands-on experience and exposure to both day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives.
