Who We're Looking For As International Tax Director, you will lead a globally distributed team, optimizing Syniverse's global tax positions, ensuring compliance, and driving strategic initiatives through hands-on execution and cross-functional collaboration. • Some of What You'll Do Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Strategic Tax Leadership • Track U.S. and international tax law developments to proactively identify risks and opportunities for the company. • Lead complex cross-functional projects, partnering with external consultants and teams across Finance, Legal, HR, and other business units. • Develop and implement tax strategies that are aligned with and support business initiatives, including restructuring, business realignment, and transaction readiness. • Provide technical analysis and recommendations for organizational actions such as entity structure changes, capital management, and intercompany transaction optimization. • Collaborate regularly with Treasury and Finance to develop and execute cross-border cash flow strategies, manage intercompany settlements, and oversee ongoing repatriation activities. • Champion process automation and data analytics to enhance efficiency and transparency. • Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for tax implications and requirements throughout the organization. Global Compliance & Reporting • Own the calculation, documentation, and ongoing review of global transfer pricing policies, ensuring alignment with business operations and evolving regulations. • Oversee all aspects of international tax compliance, including U.S. calculations (Subpart F, GILTI, BEAT, FDII, 163(j), 987, FTC), and coordination of foreign compliance with external advisors. • Ensure accurate documentation of earnings and profits pools, tax pools, PTEP, U.S. tax basis, and required elections/disclosures for foreign subsidiaries. • Lead all aspects of BEPS compliance, including Country-by-Country Reporting and Pillar II GloBE minimum tax, proactively addressing risks and implementing required changes. • Lead quarterly and year-end income tax accounting for non-U.S. operations, ensuring alignment with IFRS, US GAAP, and local standards. • Serve as the primary contact for global tax audits and controversy management, coordinating with external advisors to defend positions and resolve disputes. Leadership & Execution • Provide clear direction and guidance to a geographically dispersed team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning. • Demonstrate strong project management, analytical, and forensic accounting skills to ensure rigorous execution and clear audit trails. • Communicate complex tax concepts in accessible terms for non-tax stakeholders and senior leadership. • Manage the selection and management of external tax advisors and vendors to maximize value, control costs, and ensure high-quality service delivery. • Uphold high standards of ethics, internal control, and regulatory compliance. Requirements. Job Requirements: • Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with OneSource Tax Provision, data analytics tools, and SAP preferred. • Minimum 10 years' progressive international tax experience in a multinational tax department, Big Four/professional services, or law firm; CPA and/or master's in taxation strongly preferred.
