This team works closely with our Product, Engineering, Business to develop a deep understanding of how our products are used and influence the company strategy. About the role We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated Data Analyst Intern to help the team building a well-structured data warehouse and using it to transform business needs into data visualizations to help the organization make decisions effectively. You will work in a cross-functional environment, collaborating with Data Engineers, Product Managers, Engineering Teams and Business Stakeholders, providing clean and ready-to-use data to the organization. As a Data Analyst Intern, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced data analysts and gain valuable experience in the healthcare industry by contributing to data-driven decision-making, and improving patient outcomes. Responsibilities: • Data Modelling & Maintenance: • Work within established data models to understand data structures and entity relationships. • Contribute to the maintenance and documentation of existing data models. • Descriptive Analysis & Reporting: • Perform descriptive data analysis under the guidance of senior analysts to identify trends and patterns. • Prepare basic reports and visualizations to present data insights to stakeholders. • Collaboration & Communication: • Work closely with data engineers, project managers, and senior analysts to deliver high-quality data solutions. • Provide timely updates on assigned tasks and proactively communicate any roadblocks. • Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment. • Data Quality & Compliance: • Ensure data accuracy by cross-checking data for assigned tasks. • Adhere to data security and compliance regulations and standards. • Code Review & Best Practices: • Participate in code reviews to learn from senior analysts and ensure adherence to best practices. • Contribute to the team’s success by being a proactive team player. About you • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Public Health). • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Proficiency in SQL (ability to write basic queries). Experience with dbt (or similar data transformation tools) is a plus. • Experience with data visualization tools like Looker, Looker Studio, or equivalent BI tools is a plus. • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment. • Understanding the 'Why': Eager to ask clarifying questions about data requests to ensure accurate and relevant results. • Coachability & Active Listening: Open to receiving and acting on feedback from senior analysts and team members. • Accountability for Tasks: Demonstrated ability to deliver assigned tasks on time and to the required quality standards. • Comfortable with multi-tasking and strong attention to detail. • Quick learner and proven ability to adapt to situations quickly. • Familiar with data warehousing fundamental concepts and ETL processes; • Understanding basic database normalization concepts and entity relationships, and follows established data models.
