Fleet Technician / Field Service Mechanic – $28–$38/hr – West Milford, NJ

SnowWorX is hiring a skilled Fleet Technician / Field Service Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of diesel trucks, snow equipment, and heavy machinery. This is a full-time, year-round position with excellent pay, stability, and growth opportunity.

This role includes both shop work and field service. You must be comfortable responding to breakdowns at job sites when needed.

Compensation:

  • $28–$38/hr based on experience
  • Storm pay premium: $40–$60/hr during snow events
  • Paid overtime
  • Paid holidays, vacation, and sick time
  • Year-round full-time employment
  • Performance raises based on ability

What You’ll Do:

Shop Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative maintenance on diesel trucks and equipment
  • Repair plows, spreaders, hydraulics, electrical systems
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
  • Welding and fabrication as needed

Field Responsibilities:

  • Respond to equipment breakdowns at job sites
  • Diagnose and repair trucks and equipment in the field
  • Minimize downtime during snow operations
  • Transport equipment when necessary

Equipment You’ll Work On:

  • Ford F-350–F-750 trucks
  • Diesel trucks
  • Snow plows and salt spreaders
  • Skid steers and loaders
  • Hydraulic and electrical systems

Requirements:

  • 2+ years mechanical experience (diesel, fleet, or equipment preferred)
  • Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues
  • Comfortable working both in shop and field
  • Valid driver’s license (CDL a major plus)
  • Reliable and self-motivated
  • Welding / fabrication experience preferred but not required
