The Finance Manager / Bookkeeper is responsible for managing daily accounting and bookkeeping functions, maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing accounts payable and receivable, and preparing timely financial reports to support operational and strategic decision-making. This role ensures the smooth and accurate processing of transactions while providing valuable financial insights to the leadership team. Financial Operations & Reporting • Manage accounting software systems and integrations. • Perform daily bookkeeping tasks: • Update banking and credit card transactions. • Classify transactions into general ledger accounts. • Prepare and distribute daily balance reports. • Conduct monthly reconciliations for all financial accounts including: • Bank accounts • PayPal • Merchant accounts • Credit card accounts • Oversee Accounts Payable processing, approvals, and vendor payments. • Maintain oversight of employee and leadership expense reports. • Generate and distribute monthly financial reports to management. • Track financial performance metrics and support departmental goal alignment. • Serve as backup for internal financial reporting and accounting tasks as needed. Planning, Budgeting & Analysis • Assist in the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts. • Analyze financial data, identify trends, and report variances. • Support preparation of financial scenarios and cost-benefit analyses for business initiatives. • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure alignment on financial outcomes. Compliance & Treasury • Support tax filing preparation and compliance with federal and state requirements. • Manage 1099 processing, sales tax reconciliations, and audit preparations. • Assist in managing lines of credit, loans, and related financial communications. Collaboration & Support • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain financial transparency and alignment. • Provide support for ad hoc projects and tasks as needed. Qualifications: Education: • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration required. CPA or MBA preferred. Experience: • Minimum 5 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience with a strong understanding of daily financial operations. • Experience with GAAP, reconciliations, budgeting, and reporting. • Proficiency in accounting platforms such as QuickBooks, Bill.com, Shopify, or similar systems. Skills: • Strong analytical and reporting skills. • Excellent written and verbal communication. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
