Join our dynamic DISASTER RESPONSE TEAM as an Independent (1099) Insurance Claims Adjuster with the FEMA Mentoring Program. Become a vital part of delivering exceptional service and accurate claims resolution following a natural disaster. In this role, you will travel to disaster areas for 3-5 weeks at a time to investigate, evaluate, and settle insurance claims with enthusiasm and precision. Your expertise will help ensure resources are delivered as quickly as possible to survivors of hurricanes and other disasters affecting flood policy holders. Our job is to deliver fair outcomes and urgently needed financial resources to policyholders while maintaining the integrity of our claims process. We’re looking for a proactive, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering top-tier customer service. Duties • Respond to assigned claims, document, sketch and investigate insurance claims thoroughly by reviewing reports, documentation, and relevant evidence to determine coverage eligibility and liability. • Conduct interviews with claimants, witnesses, and other involved parties to gather pertinent information. • Detect potential fraud by identifying inconsistencies or suspicious activities during claim investigations. • Negotiate settlements with claimants or their representatives to reach fair and equitable resolutions efficiently. • Maintain organized records of all claim activities, correspondence, and documentation for audit purposes.
