About the Role: Driving IT Excellence at American Airlines As an Associate Technician, IT Services, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the seamless operation of our IT systems, supporting our employees and customers across the globe. This position is an integral part of our Information Technology Group within the IT Division, where you'll leverage your technical expertise to troubleshoot, maintain, and enhance our end-user computing environments. Key Responsibilities: Delivering IT Support and Excellence • Design, install, monitor, and maintain IT clients' desktop software and hardware, ensuring optimal performance and support for our mobile workforce. • Conduct meetings with IT clients to address all aspects of end-user computing and desktop-based LAN systems software, providing expert guidance and support. • Take ownership of end-to-end issue resolution, communication, and troubleshooting with employees, ensuring timely and effective solutions. • Provide local training to clients, enhancing their technical knowledge and skills. • Resolve and close tickets/work orders supporting end-user desktops and peripherals, ensuring prompt and efficient service. • Respond to client assistance issues raised from the Helpdesk, providing expert support and resolution. • Contribute to desktop projects (global installs/updates) as a project team member, collaborating with cross-functional teams. • Remotely diagnose and resolve demands using remote tools, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system performance. • Investigate and collaborate with various departments to address system-related issues, driving effective solutions. • Document client interactions in the incident management system, including asset management, to ensure accurate records and continuous improvement. • Recover data from hard disk drives and/or perform data migration as needed, ensuring data integrity and security. • Support remote access for virtual private network (VPN) and remote/broadband connectivity for workstations, ensuring seamless connectivity. • Install and configure local and network-based printers, ensuring optimal performance and support. • Perform preventive maintenance, minimizing downtime and ensuring system reliability. • Work various shifts, occasions, and be available for potential emergencies and travel as required, demonstrating flexibility and commitment. • Follow management direction, complying with IT policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices. • Perform various duties as assigned, demonstrating adaptability and a willingness to learn and grow. Essential Qualifications: The Foundation for Success To excel in this role, you'll need: • A minimum of an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience/training. • At least 2 years of hands-on IT work experience supporting and resolving diverse PC desktop software and hardware issues. • Direct experience supporting PCs in a Windows/TCP/IP environment, with a strong understanding of IT systems and protocols.
