GENERAL SUMMARY Under general supervision and reporting to the President of TRIGO Aerospace, Defense and Rail, Americas (TADRA), the Director of Human Resources drives processes and innovation to foster a “best-in-class” multi-state and international organization. The position provides leadership and strategic guidance to business unit functions and oversees HR activities including recruiting, onboarding, payroll, benefits, 401k administration, workers compensation, terminations, employee relations, workforce planning, organizational integration, and culture building. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS - Essential functions are the basic job duties that an employee must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation. • Serve as member of the Executive Leadership team, providing strategic guidance and collaboration • Oversee all aspects of the Employment life cycle • Establish strategic business initiatives and deliver results • Collaborate with leadership teams from sister companies to foster business integration • Responsible for continuous evaluation and improvement of employee engagement programs • Manage employee wellness initiatives • Manage arenaflex-savings and budget process • Partner with management and their teams to develop and execute the HR strategies and activities that foster growth, innovation, and organizational effectiveness • Ensure a positive, developmental, inclusive, and diverse work environment free of discrimination • Design, build and implement processes and tools to set managers and employees up for success • Build and implement strategic programs that drive outcomes for the organization such as compensation, performance management, employee relations, career development and leadership development • Build and lead an effective Recruiting and HR Team including coaching, mentoring and professional development • Coach and counsel managers on maintaining positive employee relations and performance management • Conduct investigations as necessary in response to employee relations issues and implement appropriate courses of action • Provide guidance to management regarding evaluation of changing business needs, efficiencies, and structure within their individual teams, assessing future needs, talent, and recommending action • Analyze and facilitate leadership and cultural activities. • Use influence and coaching skills to cultivate a culture that reflects TADRA Core Values • Function as a liaison between employees and management to answer questions or concerns regarding company policies, practices, and regulations • Ensure compliance with applicable US and international employment laws and regulations • Lead communication and rollout of continuous improvement of HR programs and policies • Lead audits and corrective action implementation for HR processes, 401k, and payroll • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, multi-state and international payroll, retirement savings and compensation administration, employee relations, engagement, wellness, Workers Compensation, unemployment, performance management, and termination processes • Lead annual benefits RFP process, selection, implementation, and open enrollment • Support France headquarter initiatives as required • Performs other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Knowledge of: • US and international employment law and legislation • Policies and best practices of HR Management • AAP requirements • CA IIPP; Occupational Safety and Health • HRIS and Payroll platforms • Evolving domestic and international influences on management, policies, processes, and practices Skills: • Advanced proficiency in arenaflex Office Suite, Payroll and HRIS systems • Strong business acumen, analytical approach to problem solving, and organizational skills • Professionalism, integrity, tact, and exceptional attention to detail • Strong independent decision-making skills; excellent analytical skills and professional judgment • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills • Fluent English – reading and writing Ability to: • Work independently, lead and direct teams, monitor and foster productivity • Establish credibility and build collaborative effective relationships with executive leadership, staff at all levels of the organization, and external clients. • Implement systems integration, automation, and development • Research and implement compliant practices and solutions for multi-state and international employment management • Manage confidential information with discretion • Manage a heavy workload and multi-task under strict timelines • Pass pre-hire background check including credit screening Supervision Received: • Minimal general supervision Supervision Exercised: • Payroll and HR Manager, and Recruiting Manager EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE • Bachelor of Science / Bachelor of Arts in Industrial Relations, Human Resources Management, Business Administration or similar; advanced degree preferred • 20 years HR Leadership experience with 5 or more years in a strategic development capacity. • C-suite leadership • AAP/EEO • Multistate and international largely remote workforce • Designing and project managing successful people programs, and a track record of innovation. • Coaching and developing an HR Team. • Organizational development, change management, training and development, employee relations, payroll and retirement savings, benefits, compensation. • Demonstrated success in developing HR strategies to support business objectives. • Any combination of education and experience may be considered. Licenses & Other Requirements • SPHR preferred WORKING CONDITIONS Productivity: Incumbents must perform work in an efficient, effective, and timely manner with minimal direction. Mobility: Incumbents are required to participate in assigned physical activities which may include light lifting and sitting for prolonged periods of time. Vision: enough to read printed documents, computer screens, and observe behavior of others. Environment: Typical home office conditions, working directly with Senior Management, local and remote staff members. Other Factors: Typical hours worked are Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Incumbents may be required to work occasional extended hours. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk (approximately 1-2 miles a day); sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop or kneel. The noise level in the work environment is usually low.
