Job Description This position helps develop and deploy world-class data analytics at Intermountain Health, one of the nation’s leading health systems. The Senior level Statistical Data Analyst is a senior member of a system shared service team comprised of technical professionals contributing to the achievement of Intermountain’s strategic initiatives, clinical excellence, and operational targets through data-driven insights. Our teams report to senior leaders in Digital Technology Services (DTS) and work in strong partnership with key business and clinical leaders across all areas of Intermountain Health. This team provides ongoing training, maintenance, monitoring, and promotion of data applications and reports to ensure data is widely known, accessible, and used to its fullest potential. Position Details This role will work Monday-Friday during regular business hours. Although the majority of this job will be done remotely, incumbent will be required to travel for DTS/Analytics wide internal summits. Essential Functions • Serve as primary support for management level leadership of a system/regional business or clinical area. • Develop a solid understanding of customer data and clinical/business operations. • Meet regularly with customer stakeholders to set project priorities, provide work updates, and establish deliverable timelines. • Partner with Healthcare Data Advisors and Data Architects to ensure the integrity and accuracy of data for the area(s) supported. • Receive customer requests and develop/deliver meaningful information through data exploration, statistical analysis and interpretation, report development, and visual storytelling. • Analyze and interpret data using statistical modeling software (e.g. R, Python, SAS) and apply statistical methods, analysis, and models (i.e. hypothesis testing, logistic and linear regression, correlation, parametric and non-parametric methods) to detect improvement opportunities. • Effectively communicate statistical and analytic findings and recommendations to both technical and business executives. • Schedule and provide analytic work demonstrations and hands-on training for customers to promote understanding and independent consumption of analytic work. • Augment technical skillset through individual learning and participation in Intermountain analytic community educational offerings. • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior analysts Skills • Statistical software proficiency (R, Python, SAS) • Statistical methods application • Intermediate SQL, database design • Statistical programs experience (SPSS, SAS, R) • Report/dashboard creation (Tableau, Cognos) • Word processing, spreadsheet, internet, email, scheduling • Effective communication skills • Healthcare data expertise • Lifelong learner, collaborative • Individual/team-based support Qualifications • Proficiency with SQL and python is essential. Proficiency with Tableau is essential. • Experience designing, preparing, and cleaning datasets for statistical analysis is essential. • Experience with Epic is essential and Cogito fundamental accreditation (or higher) is strongly preferred. • Experience using Databricks is strongly preferred. • A background in Antimicrobial Stewardship is preferred. A background in research is preferred.
