Job Description:

Finney's Institutional Pharmacy is seeking a motivated and customer-oriented individual to join our team as a Customer Service Technician. As a vital part of our customer service team, you will be responsible for ensuring prompt and professional handling of telephone requests, responding to and documenting incoming customer inquiries, and directing specific inquiries to the appropriate team or individual. Additionally, you will maintain a positive and pleasant demeanor with all callers while accurately fulfilling customer requests, processing refill requests, and handling STAT orders as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle telephone requests promptly and professionally.
  • Respond to and document incoming requests from customers.
  • Direct specific inquiries to the appropriate team or individual.
  • Maintain a positive and pleasant demeanor with all callers.
  • Fulfill customer requests accurately.
  • Process refill requests and STAT orders as needed.
  • Research disposition of drug orders quickly and accurately.
  • Act as a liaison between the pharmacy and the facility.
  • Act as a point of contact for customer inquiries.
  • Contact facility as needed to clarify faxed requests.
  • Inform facility of items in upcoming cycle (preliminary packing slips).
  • Communicate with physician offices verbally or electronically to professionally obtain prescriptions.
  • Communicating with employees, patients, caregivers, and physicians by phone, fax, and email in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Active pharmacy technician license from the Indiana State Board of Pharmacy preferred, but not required.
  • Previous customer service experience extremely valuable and desired.

Working Conditions:

  • Normal working hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with additional time as required based on daily workloads.
  • Saturday shifts may be required to support customers.
  • Customer Service team members must work well together as a team.
  • This position involves multiple hours of phone time per day speaking with doctors, leaders, administrators, and patients.

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting and working at a computer for up to 8 hours a day, minus scheduled breaks.
  • Operating a desktop keyboard and mouse.
  • Using a desk phone with either handset or wireless headset.
