Description

As our Compliance Monitoring & Controls Testing Analyst, you will be responsible for running assurance and controls testing programmes to ensure compliance with TrueLayer policies. You will be working across a range of regulatory requirements and advising the business teams on how best implement the relevant rules and assessing TrueLayer's exposure to various risks.

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled 2nd line professional to create appropriate and efficient risk-based approaches in implementing relevant regulatory requirements.

As our Compliance Analyst you will:

  • Co-own the maintenance and operation of TrueLayer's compliance assurance programme. Tasks include: performing testing, sample reviews, and process walkthroughs in accordance with the company's annual Compliance Testing Plan.
  • Develop and maintain a robust, risk-based Internal Controls Testing Programme to provide assurance over the firm's compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, internal policies, and procedures.
  • Participate in Group wide risk management projects including risk identification, identifying control weakness, compliance gaps and emerging operational risks (e.g. AML, consumer protection, privacy)
  • Based on the outcomes of assurance and controls testing activities, assist in updating policy documentation and developing training workshops and/ or control optimisation opportunities
  • Support on regulatory change projects so that relevant stakeholders are consulted and advised in relation to changes or regulatory requirements and provide assurance to senior managers that the business is operating within risk appetite.
  • Support on regulatory reporting ensuring that relevant business owners input into the returns in an accurate and timely manner
  • Support on risk reporting to Leadership and the Risk and Compliance Committee (or regulators as needed)
  • Interpret regulations, taking into account the strategic direction of the business, and advise on their implementation to stakeholders such that the business can operate within risk appetite
  • Remain up to date with the laws, regulation, guidance and industry best practice
  • Collaborate with the Legal, Financial Crime and Policy teams to share knowledge and as a function enable growth and manage risk in a hyper-growth environment.

About you:

  • Proven experience within 2nd line compliance monitoring and testing (or assurance and audit) teams, preferably in financial services
  • Proven capacity to apply critical thinking and analytical rigor to complex risk scenarios, control effectiveness and regulatory ambiguity
  • Working knowledge and proven practical experience in the end-to-end control risk and control lifecycles including assessing control design and operating effectiveness
  • Working knowledge of PSD2/ PSRs requirements in the UK and EU
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder collaboration and outcome reporting
  • Experience working within emerging risk areas of financial services such as money remittance, credit and open banking is desirable
  • Proven history of coordinating relationships with operational, commercial and product teams.
  • Proficiency in MS/ Google software and process analysis tools
  • Proven experience in managing tasks, documentation and driving projects independently to completion.
